The wolves circled them, snapping their teeth whenever they moved. Evie tried to wipe the tears from her eyes but she was scared to move. The five had all gripped hands and were standing in a circle. The three wolves circled them. Well two circled them while the other sat on a ledge and wined.

"I'm cold," Sliske groaned.

"Hi Cold I'm Lusha," said Lusha sarcastically.

Lucifer growled at her. The two shut up instantly. There was a moment of silence.

"I'm hungry," Sliske moaned.

Lusha growled at him, her eyes flashing.

"What? I am."

"Will you be quiet for like five minutes?" Lusha said, pausing from pacing the group.

"Lusha..." said Lucifer, following her.

"Tell him to be quiet!" Lusha snapped.

"Don't speak to me that way," said Sliske. "I am higher than you." He looked down at her from the bench. "Literally."

Lusha looked ready to burst. "I swear if you don't stop talking-"

"What in the world is going on?"

The wolves turned. The VKs sucked in their breath.

Raven stood in the doorway to the cell. She was staring daggers at her wolves. "You are supposed to be guarding them." She jerked her head at the five cowering prisoners.

"They haven't gone anywhere," Lusha snapped, still in a bad mood.

Raven raised her hand and the wolf flew across the cell and slammed into the far wall. Lusha whimpered. Sliske slunk off the bench and stood next to Lucifer.

"Once we are done with this one," said Raven to Lucifer. "I want you to finish him off."

The large black wolf nodded. Lusha recovered and limped over to the other two. Raven walked over to the VKs and grabbed Evie's face roughly in her hand. "Now now, don't cry little princess. Your friend isn't dead yet."

She released Evie.

"You're a monster," said Evie.

Raven chuckled. "You wish." And with one swift stroke, she slapped Evie across the cheek. She probably expected Evie to fall back or at least acknowledge the fact that she struck her. But the girl just stood there like nothing happened. Raven smiled. She stared for a little while longer before pointing at Evie and saying: "I like her." before turning on her heel and leaving the cell.

The wolves followed her out. Sliske was the last one out. He turned to the VKs. "Don't try anything." He turned on his heel and walked out of the cell and closed the door behind him with his paw.

Evie collapsed to floor. Her body shook with sobs. "They're gonna kill him," she said through tears.

"No they wont," said Uma, getting on the floor next to her. "Its just a threat."

"Yeah," said Jay. "He's probably fine."

A scream carried from below the cell.

Jay closed his eyes and sighed, Gil looked at Harry, and Uma hugged Evie.

"Mal where are you?" Uma muttered.

Mal stood there stupidly in the snow just staring at the riders. Her horse was rearing and whinnying. They were gaining on her. Mal's heart began to race. Then her brain reeled into action and a surprise idea popped into her head out of nowhere. She mounted her horse, turned and raced into the snow. She could hear the pounding of the hooves on the snow. Once they were a faint noise, she turned her horse around and charged at the riders. They clearly didn't expect this to happen and neither did she, but she had a good feeling. Her necklace began to glow. Mal held out her right hand and a green fire blazed in her hand creating a golden hilted sword with a dragon on the blade.
