ALICE
The rest of the tour went by in a bit of a whirl (and I'm not just saying that because I was drunk for most of it!). Andy didn't bother me again, because my immediate company had changed. I no longer spent the majority of my time with my band, the guys had all drifted their separate ways and by the end of the tour, we had played our last show and decided it was time to pack it in. I spent nearly all of my time with Dan, but if he wasn't around I was just as happy to hang around with Kyle, Will or Woody. Usually we were all together. Kyle and Will, over the last week of the tour, had become a bit obsessed with finally seeing the tattoo on my back. I had been gradually raking up the price until the last show, where all four of them sat me down and Kyle said, "two bottles of red, Dan's stag jumper and a tiramisu. Final offer." I pretended to think about this for a minute before shaking his hand and declaring, "It's a deal.". Then I stood and made my way onto the stage to play our last show. At the end of our set I thanked the audience after getting them very wound up, reminding them every couple of songs that the awesome and insane Bastille would be up there in only a matter of minutes. I skipped off stage and settled myself down with a can of beer to watch their set. Eleven cans later we were all outside. The guys were warmly greeting besotted fans and I laughed and joked with a few, not feeling particularly drunk. By the time we all got back to the hotel we were lucky enough to be staying in for the night, considering that our usual beds were bunks on a moving bus, it was well past 2.00am. We had gone to the pub and we were all smashed, myself especially after all that beer at the venue. We stumbled inside and congregated in Kyle's room. I let them wait for a little bit longer before showing them my tattoo, which was an intricate cross with a city behind it, as if in the distance. The city was in darkness and was like a timeline, from left to right it gradually became more modern, from seemingly medieval on the left to modern day london on the right. The cross had a the devils tail wrapped vertically around the bottom half and his hand visible grabbing onto the horizontal part near the top. It's meant to symbolise, in relation to all kinds of extreme religion in this day and age as oppose to hundreds of years ago, that obsession with anything is not a good thing, and so the devil is meant to represent the evil in all extremes. After explaining this to a very drunk and philosophical Will, I earned myself a hug and a few slurred compliments. The last night of the tour was fun, but after months away, I just wanted to see London again.
