Chloe walked down the hall, feeling refreshed from her bath. She was dressed in her sleepwear, taking the chance to have room service wash her clothes for her. When she reached the room, she stepped inside to see all the pokemon happily eating, managing to have all fit in the large room. Gladion was seated on his bed, a tray in front of him with one plate full of food and one plate completely cleaned. He'd already finished eating.
"Good, you're back," he said. "Better eat before your food gets cold."
Chloe nodded. "Definitely. I don't want a cold supper, that's for sure."
Gladion smiled lightly, looking her over. "By the way, I like your pajamas. The Eevee design is cute."
(These are Chloe's pajamas)
Chloe paused, glancing down at herself. "Oh, thanks. I figured I'd change so I can have my usual clothes washed. You should do the same while we have the chance."
The boy nodded, getting up while she got situated on her bed with her plate. Gladion left temporarily, giving Chloe and the pokemon the chance to finish up their meals. It wasn't long before Gladion got back, dressed in black pajama pants and a red-striped black shirt. Chloe could hardly keep from giggling at him, seeing as how all he ever seemed to wear was black and red.
The blond noticed her amused expression. "What?"
"Oh, nothing," she casually replied with a grin, "just that you never seem to wear anything other than black and red."
"They're my favorite colors. Is there a problem with that?" He gave a teasing smile.
Chloe laughed lightly. "No, I was just pointing it out. I think it suits you, really."
Gladion took a seat on his bed, looking at the pokemon all settling in to rest. Even though Silvally and Tyrantrum hadn't initially gotten along too well, they seemed to mostly ignore each other now, at least enough to eat and sleep in peace. Gladion looked over at Chloe, who had Salazzle and Espeon curled up on her bed with her, both pokemon already asleep. He wondered if this was a good time to bring up something he'd been curious about for a while.
"Hey, Chloe?" he softly spoke so as not to wake the pokemon. She looked over at him with a quiet hum. "I've been meaning to ask about...your father."
The girl's eyes widened ever so slightly. "What about him?"
"Well, you told me that he brought you to Aether in the past, but he didn't work there. It's just been bugging me recently."
Chloe's mind raced for a response. I can't tell him about my connection to Team Skull. He probably wouldn't want anything to do with me if he knew. She glanced over at her choker on the nightstand, her gift from him. And I...want him to stick around. "I'm...certain you don't know him," she finally replied. "He's just a regular guy. He...got in touch with Lusamine in the past...for research purposes."
