Rin's P.O.V

  While standing on the roof of Samezuka academy, I was undergoing a battle with my conscious.

  "Why? Why do these things happen?" I asked myself. "Why does everything get messed up on the end?" I looked down and balled up my fingers to form a fist. Underneath me was the ground surrounding the school. A small breeze blew by and a leaf landed at my feet. I grabbed the leaf and stared at it. Then a tear fell on it.

  "Why? Did I work so hard for nothing? Is this what I get? What did I do wrong? Am I not strong enough? Is there something wrong with me?" I asked so many questions, tears were rolling down my face now. I crushed the leaf in anger ans watched as it fell to the ground below me. I heard footsteps behind me and then the door slammed open.

  "Rin!"

That voice, I've heard it so many times before. Ever since elementary school, it was the voice he could never forget, the voice of the blue eyed boy who is obsessed with water, the voice of the boy who is better than me, the voice of the boy who makes no facial expressions, the voice that means so much to me. It was Haru's voice.

  "Rin, don't do this." Haru said, while waking towards me.

  "Why not?! I tried so hard for all of this! Do you know how many hours I trained in Australia? How I dedicated my whole life to this! I can't even win against some high school teams! I noticed that something was wrong with me, but this is too much. What's there to life for anymore?! " My voice started to crack by then.

  "Rin, do you think this will solve anything?!" He yelled at me, "there is always another chance!" He stopped walking just a foot away from me.

  "Another chance for what?! This is permanent now and I can't go on with this and become a Olympic swimmer! My father's dream is gone now," tears were coming down faster now, "nothing matters anymore. Now that I'll never be able to swim with you again."

  Those words hit Haru hard. I could see it on his face.

  "Rin, we can always practice or have our own races against each other! We will always be able to swim together." His expression softened and he held out a hand for me.

  "No. We will never be able to swim in the way I wanted us to. Haru, you don't understand."

  "What do I not understand?" Haru asked gently. I looked at him with tears streaming down my face.

  "That I love you Haru." I gave a Haru a smile and took a step backwards. I heard Haru run over to where I was and try to grab me, but it was too late. I felt the breeze hit my back as I was falling down, faster with each second. I saw Haru on the roof then I closed my eyes. Images from my life were flashing by. 'Rei the boy I just met with the worst sense of style but the smartest person I ever met. Makoto, the tall boy who was kind so everyone, but had the worst form in swimming. Even then he is amazingly fast. Nagisa, the little fool. There has never been a day where I have seen him not smiling. He is a 5 year old stuck in a 16 year old's body. Nitori, with the cool white hair. He was never good at swimming and he is very shy. But he's a good kid and he'll go far in life. Coach Mikoshiba, the hot head. He was always going after my little sister. But he has stamina like I've never seen. Gou, the bright and demanding little sister. She was the best sister a guy could ask for. And lastly, Haru. His black sleek hair and pure shining blue eyes. He never seemed to be like the kind of person you want to be friends with just because he's so quiet. But behind those walls that he puts up, there's something amazing that's going on. I'm so glad I was able to break those walls before- well. This. I would have never asked for better people in my life.'  The last thing I heard was Haru calling my name and then there was nothing.
