Here we go again. Me and Katelyn are laying in bed with Kawaii~Chan, comforting her. Her and some guy (Me and Katelyn never cared to learn his name since the relationship was short, like we thought it would be) broke up a few hours ago. We do this at least once every two months:

Kawaii~Chan meets a boy, they start talking, he'll ask her out, she always says yes, they date and move way too fast, he'll break up with her because "I want to focus on the football/baseball/basketball/lacrosse team", she'll call us, then we're all cozy in blankets while watching Rom-Coms and eating Milk Duds.

"I just don't understand." Kawaii~Chan wipes her tears on the blankets, "Why would Bryce~Kun dump me like this?" So that was his name. I pop a Milk Dud into my mouth, trying my best not to answer. "Why can't I have a relationship like Aphmau and Laurence."

Oh, right, I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Aphmau Everton, a junior at Phoenix Drop High. I'm currently on the soccer team and I'm an Honor student. I started dating this guy, Laurence Zhavl, last year and ever since, we were consider a power couple.

I know, I know, cliche in every single way, but I mean it. Laurence is this handsome guy on the football team, a full back, and I'm a good soccer player with brains. Sounds like a romance movie in a way.

Well. There is one little detail about us.

I'm confident his ex-girlfriend, Lily Cordova, is trying to get back with him. I have every right to be upset. She's this gorgeous tall cheerleader who, and I hate to say this, gave him a blowjob in eighth grade. And I'm not that type of person, so me and Laurence never get that far and I can tell he's frustrated.

Anddddd another little detail.

I dated Aaron Lycan, Laurence's friend at the beginning of freshman year. I mean, it was about half of a year long and I broke up with him, but we still dated. I know when the three of us all hang out, Laurence gets jealous and reminds Aaron who I belong to. But that doesn't stop Aaron from trying.

Ever since Aaron found out about us, he would give me little reminders of I dated him first. From little notes in my locker, to text messages, to glances at me when we were around Laurence. When we were together, he was definitely easier to talk to. We got along much easier to talk to and I did enjoy our relationship, truly, but we broke up because...

He's such a bad influence. He disrespects his parents and school staff, he skips classes, and I heard he does drugs. Which probably isn't true, knowing him. Yet, something about him made me so fascinated. Anyway, it ended and I'm with Laurence. I should be happy, right?

"It's okay, KC." Katelyn rubs her back, "You are way better off without... Bryce. Me and Aphmau will get you all cleaned up then we're see you at school tomorrow. Right, Aph?"

"Yeah yeah, we will."

I close my locker after putting away my history textbook when I feel someone resting next to it. "Hi, Aaron." I smell his cologne past by.

"How'd you know it was me?"

"Because you do this everyday like it's on your agenda. What are you about to tell me now? You were my first kiss? I was the first girl you actually had feelings for? Or maybe this time you'll tell me about how I'm the only person on your mind." He looks like I just read his mind.

"I was going to ask if you were free next weekend. The fair is in town and I thought we could go. As friends." He says, that last sentence was a little hesitant.

"Can I bring Laurence along?" I cannot be left alone with this boy.

"I thought he was going on the baseball retreat so he could try out later in the winter."

"Yeah, but it was-"

"Cancelled." Laurence wraps an arm around my shoulder and stands besides me. "It's going to rain all weekend up north so it was moved to this weekend. I thought I told you." Aaron shoves his hands until his pockets.

"No, I would've remembered. But yeah, you should come along." Aaron looks down at me.

"Sounds like a lot of fun. Right, babe?" Laurence also looks down at me. It feels so weird to have your ex-boyfriend who still possible still has feelings for you and your current boyfriend's eyes on you at the same time.

"Yeah, that sounds like a blast." I answer.

"Great! I also wanted to invite a few more people, if that's okay." Laurence adds.

"Yeah, that's fine." Aaron answers.

"We'll see you later, bro." Laurence says as he starts walking with me still under his arm. I can feel Aaron's eyes on the back on my neck as we continue to walk to Trig class. "What was he talking about before I got there?"

He doesn't know that Aaron still talks about the time when we were together and I prefer for it to stay that way. "He was talking about the fair and inviting me, along with a few friends like Katelyn and Travis and Dante and all them." I'm not lying. I'm telling a half-assed truth.

"Good. I'll see you after class?" We stop by my trig class. He leans down to kiss me, but I turn my face so he kisses my cheek.

"Sorry, I had sushi for lunch." Okay, that was a lie. I just can't get Aaron out of my mind right now and kissing Laurence with that thought seems wrong. Wait, Aaron didn't even do anything today. So why am I so worried? "I most likely have fishy breath."

"I'll see you later then." He lets me go and starts walking away.

"I'll... see you later."
