Percy sighs.
"I think that surge of energy was from you. I think you have an ability."

Carmen looks back at Percy dumbfounded. Then begins to laugh.

"Very funny Perc. We both know I don't have a power." Carmen sits up shaking her head. Percy bites his lower lip. He opens his mouth to say something when a ball of pink fluff comes barreling into the room.

"PINK!" Carmen squeals in excitement and hugs the fluff to her chest. As Percy watches her he begins to smile as well.

I wont bother her with it just yet. She's too happy and I think she could use some down time.

Percy stays with Carmen until after dinner and then kisses her on the forehead. He stands to leave but Carmen drowsily catches his arm.

"Perc.... wait..," She yawns and looks up at him.

"What's up Carm?" Percy asks while smiling gently at her.

She looks so sweet and young. She shouldn't have had to grow up so fast.

"Are we... I mean am I..?" Carmen asks, failing to find the right words.

"Am I your boyfriend?" Percy asks with a knowing smirk. Carmen blushes but nods. He leans down and kisses her cheek. "Yes." Carmen smiles and finally succumbs to sleep.

Carmen drifts between  consciousness and sleep for a few days only waking to eat or drink a little. Percy stays by her side the whole time. Only leaving to handle business.

Carmen yawns as her eyes flutter open. She looks around to see warm light coming through the windows brightly. Dust floats among the streams of light and Carmen smiles. Feeling safe again. She basks in the feeling as she burrows deeper under the blankets. Her body feels relaxed and her mind burden less. Then everything that's happened comes crashing down on her once more. Her eyes widen and her head begins to throb with stress. Panic rises in her throat and chokes her up. She takes in several shaky breaths trying to calm herself. There's a knock on her door and she clears her throat. She inhales deeply. Her eyes harden once more.

"...Come in." Percy walks in a bright smile on his face.

"You're awake!" He walks over and places a tender kiss on her brow. She immediately relaxes.

Why.....? I've only known him for a little while. I shouldn't be this comfortable. It's dangerous. It'll give me a weakness.

She looks up to see Percy's bright eyes staring back, a dazzling smile on his face.

ughhh.....too cute.

"So how you doing? Feeling better now that you've ya know...slept and healed. What normal humans do?" Percy asks, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
