Declan awakens with a jolt, his body engulfed in a tingling sensation, his head throbbing in pain. All he remembers is the men, the men and the mist.
He sat up slowly, eyes searching the room for answers,  but the young boy was the only thing in the room.
Or dungeon, so it seemed.
He could practically hear the thumping of his heart, his breathing was fast and short. Fear overwhelming his body as the realization hit him.
'They set me up'

'My own family'

Tears formed in his eye, a single one trickling down his cheek. His fingers curled into a fist, digging his nails into his sweaty hands. Anger began to mix in with the feelings of panic and sadness. He pulled his legs closer to his chest, trying to find comfort in himself.
His stomach turned into a tight cramp, his foot began to tap against the floor, his breaths came in gaps. The young boy began to have a panic attack.
'I'm going to die'
Declan felt like he was going to faint.

The thoughts are racing inside his head. He wanted to get up, to fight, or to run. But he couldn't. He slid to his body down, laying in the cold floor. He sobbed to himself.

'I'm so scared'

'Oh god make it stop please make it stop' the boy sobbed some more,

The sound of a old rusted door rang through the air, silencing Declan's cry. The the doors squeaks echoed through the air like fingers on a chalkboard, causing the boy to flinch.
A figure walks into the room, standing only a few steps away from him, he looked over to them. Staring at the shoes that stood in front of him, small flat shoes, connected to slim short legs that was wrapped in black nylons. A dress dangled down the persons legs.
Declan looked up more, curious on who was with him, only to see a young girl close to his age.
She was stunning. Her pale white skin gleamed with light as the sun gently shown in on her, through the barred window. Her sparkling red eyes seems to stare inside my soul, accompanied with dark black eye shadow.
Her blonde hair tied behind her head. It was obvious to what she is, a vampire.
Reminding him of the events of the night before, seeing the two men behind him. He remembered turning to running, to see to more.
'She was there'
'SHE DID THIS'

Declan was unsure as to what to do, he has never even seen another supernatural being outside of his family.
He wanted to fight, to use his powers and escape. But he didn't know how, his guardians had banned him from learning to do so.
The creature in front of him had no emotions written on her face, she stood like a statue,
her left arm by her side, her right holding a glass of water.
"Get away from me" He said to the girl, oh so softly as his voice seemed to be so weak. He was dehydrated, he wanted the water the girl held. But he couldn't trust it.

The girl said nothing. A small evil smile twitched onto her face as she sat the glass down in front of him before turning to leave.

The moment she reached the door, she stopped. "Welcome to Volterra, Declan"  she said, and then left.

'Volterra? What is this place?'

Declan sighed, staring at the glass of water. He wanted it so bad, but he would not give in.

Declan had never been so afraid, every noise he heard terrified him. He wondered if they were going to kill him.he wondered if it was possible to escape the prison of a vampires presence. Declan felt doomed.

Why would his family do this to him? He should have followed his instincts. He should have never left the hotel.

The dungeon he was in was cold, His teeth chattered, he wrapped his arms around himself. The boy began to cry once again.
Declan was sure he was going to die, either from the cold of from the vampire draining his blood.

'This is it'
My life is over'
