A/N- Whew, things took a rather good turn today! That annoying extension that prevented me form working on this randomly deleted itself yesterday morning while I was working on an assignment in school, so I can now edit this story how I please.
Now then, go forth! To the people whom you should be facing the truth with! :))

"Die, Shadows."
Without hesitation, Yui stabbed the Shadow closest to Joker in the chest, making it disappear in a cloud of black smoke. Another one moved in to try and finish off Ren, but the other girl beat them to it. She threw the knife into its head and pulled it out.
"What the...?!" Morgana stuttered, completely dumbfounded at what he just saw. A girl, beating the Shadows without a Persona was something that shouldn't happen.
"Unless...!"
He shook his head.
"Now isn't the time."
Morgana leaped into the battle and successfully slashed his curved sword at the last enemy, catching it in the back. It let out an anguished wail before dissipating. Before the cat had time to fully catch his breath, there was a soft thud as Ren collapsed onto the ground. "Hey...!" Sakamoto exclaimed as him and the other two ran over to where he was.
Yui, who had returned to normal after the last Shadow died, kneeled down and started to rummage through her school bag. Morgana shot a confused look at the girl, though it went unnoticed by the former. "What exactly are you doing? We don't have much time, and-"
"The Shadows will be here soon. I know," she interrupted, not looking up. "But his arm is bleeding too badly. He'll pass out before we get out of here safely." Even now, Ren was nearing the point of unconsciousness.
She searched her bag for a moment longer before letting out a satisfactory "Aha!" as she pulled out a roll of white gauze. "Sakamoto, could you help me get him up? I don't want to hurt him more."
The two of him managed to get his arms around each of their shoulders, while Morgana went ahead to scout out a safe room for them to go into. "Over here!" he called out from the hallway next to the three teenagers. As quickly as they could, they made their way over to where the cat was waiting.
He was standing by a rather extravagant pair of double doors, a triumphant, if not boastful smile on his laughably oversized head. "This room is safe. No guards have come in or out of this door, so we'll use it as our hideout for the time being."
There was no argument, not even from Sakamoto as the doors were pushed open as the group went inside. There was a medium sized table with four chairs surrounding it, along with a medium-sided vent with a thin, black-wired grate covering it.
"Set him down there," Yui murmured softly, using her free hand to point to the wall adjacent to the vent. They did just that, and once he was on the ground in as comfortable position as he could get in, Ren hunched over and let out a soft groan while clutching his bleeding arm.
As he absently stared at the ground, trying to distract himself from the pain, his eyes flickered from gray to a flame red, and then back again. Morgana and Yui noticed the change, and looked at the other with a worried expression painted on their faces.
"R-Ren...?" the girl asked cautiously. She extended her arm out to grasp his hand, and when the physical contact was made, the boy flinched and snapped his attention to the people around him. "Mmm... It seems like your Persona isn't fully stable within you yet. Though it is strange that it did that instead of your outfit changing back...," the cat voiced, scrunching his face up in concentration.
"A-anyway!" Sakamoto interrupted, "we should probably take care of his arm. I mean, that's why we're here, right?" After a moment, the other two nod, and Yui got to work, taking out a roll of gauze from her bag. She then removed Ren's tailcoat, with the help of Ryuji and Morgana to some extent, and wrapped his arm up.
"How does it feel?"
"Pain."
"...You joke at the weirdest times, man..."
"U-um, was that even a joke, Ren...?
"Dunno."
"What!"
A soft smile found its way to Ren's mouth and eyes, a sight that greatly pleased Yui, though she didn't show it.
She then turned to Morgana, who was now watching them intently. "You can escape from this room, you know," he finally says, motioning his head to the vent.
"Through there...? So, that leads outside, right?"
Morgana chuckled. "Yeah! You sure get the hang of things pretty quickly, Frizzy Hair! Just crawl through the vent, and freedom will be yours."
"So we just have to get that metallic mesh off, yeah? A'ight then!" The yellow-haired male jumps on top of the bookshelves and yanks on the grate, letting out a surprised yell as it popped off.
Without hesitation, the three of them climbed on the bookshelf and crawled into the vent. As Yui was about to crawl behind them, she noticed Morgana still standing there.
"You're not coming?"
"No. I have something I need to take care of."
"...Thanks for helping us out, Mona."
"Mona?"
"It's like a nickname. It's convenient, and it sounds good, too!"
"Huh. I kinda like it."
Yui waved to the cat. "Welp, see you!" She crawled in after Ren. Meanwhile, Morgana continued to stand there, pondering the events that took place.
"They all seem useful. Especially Frizzy Hair. His Persona is exceptionally strong, yet he can somehow manage that power with ease..."
"But her.... "
"It almost seemed like she was...!"

God, I'm doing horrible with updating, but I finally did it! Yay, I'm so proud of myself for once! Anyway, most of my attention in regards to this book is the backstory that I'm going to give to Ren and my OC's and how to make this book truly my own, not just retelling the events of P5R.
