Dear Recipient,
I am pleased to announce that your (realm, world, country, etc) has been chosen to participate in the 43rd Glory Games. Refusal is not an option, but if that's what you were thinking, however, we will have great pleasure in obliterating your (realm, world, country, etc). By sunset the day after receiving this letter, two participants, in the age range of 8-16 (human years), the genders do not matter, shall be sent with a mentor to the top of the North Mountain to be collected. The Glory Games are an event to appease the Empire and entertain the Galaxy and have been going on for many years and through that, heroes have been forged. Only the best shall enter the games.
Sincerely,
DS
Hela stared blankly at the paper in her hands. The sun hung low in the ebbing blue sky, and after scouring the ample library for a story to entertain her, Hela had resorted to searching through her mother's mail heap and had discovered the black envelope without any writing on it, letting her curiosity get the best of her and opening it to be greeted with this peculiar paper. A sudden rush of unanswered questions ran through her mind like a gust of wind. Who was DS? What was the Empire? And more importantly, how did they know where she lived? Hela shook her head. I better tell Eric about this, she thought. Stuffing the letter into her dress's pocket she sprinted out of the study and quickly located her bookworm of a brother sitting on the grand staircase, scrawling in his journal. "Hey," She called to him. Eric looked up at her intently with his sparkling emerald eyes, and gently set down the journal next to him. "You'll never guess what I found," Hela reached into her pocket and unfolded the paper, handing it to her brother. Eric stared at the paper. "Where did you find this?" "In mom's mail pile." Eric read over it several times before giving it back. "What do you think?" Eric ran his fingers through his light blond hair and cast his gaze downward and then looked back up. "We should tell mom and dad." Came his rough reply. "Why get them involved?" Hela's blue eyes narrowing. "They mean to kill us if we don't go!" Eric shouted, his eyes widening. "Fine, we'll tell them, but what good would that do? I mean, it's not like they'll know how to solve that." Eric blinked. "They'll do something." The dinner bell rang as soon as the twosome entered the dining hall, each taking a seat parallel from the other, with their parents sitting on either end of the long table. For a while, the four ate in silence until Hela decided to speak up. "I found a letter," she began, while poking at her food with a fork, most of her raven-black hair obscuring her vision. "What kind of letter?" Loki, Hela's father asked nonchalantly. Hela tossed back her hair and met her father's gaze. "An invitation to something called the Glory Games." Loki opened his palm. "Let me see it." Hela produced the paper and placed it in his open hand. Loki read the letter and then passed it to their mother, Queen Elsa. Naturally being the second most quiet at mealtimes, often topped, however by her son, she said nothing at all as she accepted the invitation with a grim, expressionless face. "We have no choice," She said as she set down the letter next to her napkin. "Someone from Arendale must represent us in the Glory Games." "Then who's going?" Eric spoke up and the entire family turned to Loki. "We are, of course." He smiled, reading the three shocked faces of his family. Hela slammed her hands on the table as she rose. "That's insane!" "You know, I've been called insane multiple times in my life, but this time, I'm most certainly not inane but quite the opposite. Who better to go than you and your brother? We want worthy representatives, don't we? And don't you worry about a mentor, I'll teach you better than anyone else." A slight smile spread across Elsa's face. "He's got a point." She admitted. "Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's pack our bags and say our goodbyes, we've got some Glory Games to win!" Loki exclaimed as he stood up and left the dining hall. Hela smirked at Eric and gently squeezed his hand as they and Elsa followed Loki out of the dining hall. "What's the worst thing that can happen?" She whispered.
