Chapter 3- Preparing for the big day

“slpsshh” goes cold water as it rolls down my face and into my nose. I open my eyes and see Jason’s face, and then I tried to calm myself down, instead of planning to kill him.

“w-what was that for” I said as I wiped off all the water on my face

“Tomorrow is judgment day, so Linda told me to wake you up, for training

“So you decide to pour water on my face, instead of just calling out my name or tapping me” I say bitterly

“Wasn’t in the mood” he says as he has a crooked smile on his face. Well I got over myself remembering how ignorant he is and went straight to the shower. I’m kind of stressed out after all the work I’ve been doing. I think I lost about 15 pounds, and all the weapons they give us are almost half my size. Why can’t we just use our powers!

“hurry up” I hear, it sounds like Jason’s voice, but I intend to not listen as the cold water pours down my skin.

Suddenly I hear a loud pound on the door, and I slip and hit my head on the hard wall, I couldn’t help myself, but scream. Then I grabbed my towel and opened the door, I was so close to slapping him, but I controlled myself and said a quiet “what” he didn’t reply, he just pointed to his watch and smiled.

“Fine, I’m almost done be patient” I said, as I shut the door. I started to brush my teeth for a while, and then I got my clothes and quickly changed into my uniform.

While walking to the training room I decided to talk to him. “How did you get here” I asked. He looked at me then held his breath and said

“I got murdered”

“Oh my gosh” I blurt out

“Um, how” I say biting my finger nails

“You think I would tell you” he says as he opens the gym door. I guess it was maybe a second degree murder or something very serious, so he possibly didn’t want to tell me.

“Hello lovelies” Linda says as she gives us a warm hug. “A bit late today” she says as she shakes her head.

“Sorry, next time maybe someone-“he stopped as soon as Linda gave him the eye, I then smiled.

“Well lets get started, today you might say this is fun but it really isn’t, you can be really injured from this but this is practice. So both of you will wear the proper gear and will pick either dart guns which will be replaced with machine guns in the war, sharp plastic swords will be replaced with sharp long knives, and a plastic axe which would be replaced with a real huge axe in the war” Linda says

“Whoa!” Jason screams out

“Great” I say sarcastically as I wear my gear.

When we were all set we chose a weapon we wanted, Jason picked the sword and I picked the dart gun.

“Nice” he says as he chews a minty piece of gum

“Can I have a piece” I say as I hold my hand out

“psshh- no” he says nastily. So I wanted to say something mean back to him

“well I guess this would be a reminder of the exact murder all over again, I’m not surprised your dead already” I say reluctantly, and then I laughed, but all he did was look at me with angry eyes, and now I feel a bit scared.

“Begin” Linda says, as she relaxes on a chair. I run into the fake forest and start to hide and get my dart gun ready. As soon as I stand, I feel a painful cut on my leg. I thought it was a PLASTIC sword! Suddenly I see Jason’s face fade somewhere else.

I was aching in pain but that didn’t stop me, so I read his mind “let’s see who gets murdered now! I will get her so bad; she probably doesn’t even know I’m right behind her”. “Now I do” I say to myself as I laugh, then I turn around and sees his face and shoot him. He hits the ground and starts groaning in pain

“Ha-ha, I did now where you were and good luck murdering me” I said as he had a puzzled look on his face. I started running then I got my shield from my gear, and started hiding. I heard some foot steps so I was extra quiet. I think Jason is a distracter, he distracts people with many things, then I get scared, what if he’s behind me. I look at my back and scream, but all it was, was a dirty old, scary mask, and suddenly I felt the plastic sword on my neck

“You probably didn’t know that I can easily distract people” he said quietly

“You probably didn’t know that I could read minds” I replied

“Well ready to get murdered” he said

“It’s just plastic” I said

“And that can JUST get you to the hospital in pain” he said back, and then he firmly gripped the sword, almost making it choke me, tears start to roll down my eyes. But then he just laughed and dropped the sword, and threw a piece of gum at me. “Just please don’t ever talk about murder, especially mine he said calmly”

“Sorry. But what happened” I replied

“He sat next to me and said “well I usually get bullied, because people think I’m a nerdy freak who doesn’t have a life. So there was this bully named Manny and he invited me for a party, and I decided to come since I was bored. When I was there he took me someplace, and I saw a pool, then he pushed me inside, and drowned me. The end” he said sadly. I started to cry, “I didn’t know you would feel that sorry for me’ he replied.

“No. well I do, but it’s not that. I got drowned to; well I drowned myself “I said.

“So you are one of those suicidal freaks or was depression just beaten ya” he said

“No, I was in a cruise for my mom’s anniversary and it crashed, then I was locked in the bathroom and drowned” I said as I continued crying remembering the painful experience.

“Sorry about that” he said

“I am too. Well about you” I replied.

I couldn’t help myself but to cry a whole river. Jason then held my hand. “Think of this as a warm sorry, from an enemy” he said. I then smiled a bit. “Oh and sorry about your leg” he said as he stared at it

“Sorry about your arm” I replied

“What’s going on” Linda says as we hear footsteps coming. Jason quickly grabbed his sword and put it on my neck again

“Nice try” she said brightly, as Jason dropped the sword. “I see you are now becoming friends”. Jason and I look at each other, then we both speak up

“Friends no way” I say

“Not even close” Jason implied.

“Uh-huh,” Linda says as she smiles, “see you guys tomorrow for the big day” she said as she left. I took off all my gear and headed right out.

While I was walking Jason followed by, and then saw a girl walking in the hallway, Jason walked up to her and kissed her.

“Hey I missed you” he said to her

“Me too” she replied, I read her mind to see if she was actually telling the truth

“Ryan’s lips are more smoother, and his hands feel warmer on me, can’t wait to see him tonight”.

“Fake!” I blurter out, then it ended up as I yell

“What” Jason and the girl said

“Huh” I replied, pretending not to know what they’re talking about

“I got to go” Jason said

“Ok, bye” she said as she left.

 “Is that your girlfriend” I say

“No” he says sarcastically

“oh she really loves you” I say in a funny tone as I laugh walking past him, this week is going to be a heck of a week. Yay!
