I woke up the next morning, my alarm clock going crazy. I don't know how long it had been going off for, but I just have slept through it. It was 7:26. I jumped out of bed, slipping and falling face first into my dresser. "Ow! Goddamnit!" I stood up, and walked over to my mirror. I had a bruise forming on my forehead and a small cut right by my eye. It looked like I have been beaten. "Fucking child abuse!" I screamed, making myself laugh. I sighed. I knew I was going to be late.
The thing about high school is that if you're late, then you might as well be hella late, and go eat some breakfast or something.
Wut did I just say.
I didn't focus on my outfit much, gray sweater, ugg boots, and blue jeans. I put a bunch of makeup on the marks on my face. Hopefully it covered them for the whole day.
I walked down the stairs, and went to pour a bowl of cereal. As I sat down to eat, my dad came out and starred at me. "What happened to you?" He asked, coming closer to me, and looking closely at the cut. "I slipped and fell into my dresser." I answered simply. My dad nodded, kissing my forehead. "Whoa!" He said, looking at his watch. "Looks like we're both really late. I'll drop you off on my way to work." My dad said, going to start the car. "I grabbed my phone and bookbag, and headed to the car.
"LETS GIVE A TOAST TO THE GIRL ALMIGHTYYY." Me and my dad sang.
Yes, me and my father are into one direction.
They are like my life.
And 5SOS .
Ok.
Anyway.
"AM I THE ONLYYYYYYYY," my dad sang.
"BELIEVERRRRRRRR." I finished the line.
We both sang it over and over again until we pulled up to my school doors. "Thank you padre." I said. "Love you baby." He said. I got out, and he drove away. I quickly walked into the building.
"Miss Gilla, you're tardy." My teacher said. "No, really? I thought I was early." I mumbled under my breath, taking my seat next to Reynold. "What happened?" He asked, pointed to my eye and forehead. "Child abuse." I said. Rey laughed. Then he stopped. "Really?" He asked concerned. "No, I slipped." I said. He nodded and chuckled, tossing his curly hair to the side. His brown hair made his green eyes pop. God. And his dimples.
I feel like I always say that.
Oh well.
"Oh!" Reynold began, turning towards me. "Darby and David broke up." He said. I looked at him, my eyes widening. "Really?" I said, looking over at Darby. We made eye contact and she glared, mouthing "The bet still stands.". I looked back at Reynold. "Well, that's too bad." He nodded, knowing not to go further on with the topic. I sat there, thinking heavily.
Should I tell him about the bet?
No.
Well, maybe.
No.
I can't.
I promised.
But Darby broke the promise.
No.
I'm not Darby.
I won't.
The bell rang, breaking my thoughts. Everyone got up, and as I walked to the door, someone whispered to me.
"No elephants on Friday, I promise."
I blushed suddenly, and turned around and saw Reynold standing there. He smiled, dimples and all, and walked past me.
