//g cord//

"No wait. It's a G cord." My cousin Alex said to me. I sighed and repeated the chorus again.
'I like the summer rain,
I like the sounds you make.
We push the world away
We get so disconnected!
You are my geta-'
I was cut off by Alex sighing in frustration. His guitar string broke. I chuckled and stood up, walking into the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of water for both of us to share. Alex followed me into the kitchen. "I have a question." He asked, taking a sip of the water. I jumped up on the countertop and swung my legs. "What is it?" I asked. "You never want to work on our covers. You're always with that Dooby chick at the mall." I choked on my sip of water I had just took. The way he said her name. "Darby." I corrected him. "Whatever. You knew what I meant." Alex mumbled. We moved on from the topic, but there was a thought in the back of my mind. I know Darby is a shit friend, but she was my best friend. I can't just pass up friendship that's last so long, can I?
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. My dog Maximus started barking. (His name may be Maximus, but he's a small little terrier.) "shut up Max." I said, opening the door. There stood Darby. "Can I talk to you?" She asked. Before I could answer, she pulled me outside on my front porch. "Look Darby-" I started, but she held up her finger. "I don't wanna hear it. I'm not here to makeup." She said. "I closed my mouth and shifted my feet. "I'm here to tell you, that the bet still stands. But since me and David are no longer a thing, and you've never had a thing with ANYONE." She smirked. "I want to extend the bet. Friday is tomorrow, and that doesn't give us nearly enough time." She turned to walk away. "How long is it extended for?" I asked. She turned around, a devilish smile on her face. "How about, prom night? That's a week from tomorrow." Before I could answer, she walked off my porch and got into her car and drove away. I stood there, flabbergasted. Okay then. I went back into my house, and picked up my guitar. I haven't played it since I was 9. "So," I sat down on the wooden stool right by the microphone. Alex came into the room, and started at me. "Wha?" He asked, pointing at me and the guitar. I ignored him and simply asked "G cord?"
