Chapter 20: The Battle

A quick moment of fear came to me as I saw a lot of men came attacking us. I remembered Nancy’s story and how her life was a living hell as a prisoner of those men. I can’t let that happen to Bryce; not ever. I charged with courage and strength that was within me. I quickly saw a rock the size of a football and tried lifting it up. With so much adrenaline going on it felt lighter than it looked like. I used it as an extension of my arms, hitting every person coming right at me. The force was intense that it cracked their skulls in contact. Blood spilled in every direction, getting it on my face and on my clothes but the wind swept by and turned it into dust.

Athena turned into a rouge war elephant. Her feet were humongous that it was crushing men below her as she rampaged by. She was 12 feet tall and probably weighs around 13000 pounds of pure meat. Her tusk started clearing people on her path. The trumpeting sound she was making was incredibly loud. It might bring in some people because it was very unusual to have a rouge elephant rampaging around. Some men would hold on to her tusk but she shook them real hard that they fell down.

Devin had a different approach, he started with firing his gun. He shot the hell out of every person that he can have contact with, the scene was not attractive. Blood started splashing everywhere. His t-shirt was doused with blood stains. Every now and then men would start firing their guns at him but his skin was shockingly bullet proof, but not entirely. It would leave marks on his skin just like a paintball when it made contact on unprotected skin. I knew that it still hurts even when the bullet doesn’t really penetrate but his face showed pure determination and courage.

Enzo, as usual, had a gun on each hand. His shots were flawless and fatal in contact. He started closing in with Devin. Both had guns for weapons not yet using their abilities to extinguish their enemies. They both fired back to back as their enemies started circling them. No one was able to penetrate their inner circle with a five feet radius. A pile of bodies started cramping up the space but the men where determine to kill both of them.

“I’m out.” Devin said as he shot his last bullet hitting a man straight to his head, the man fell, and face down to the ground. He threw his gun straight to another man’s face which penetrated on contact. He started punching people on the face that proved to be deadly.

Devin kicked the hell out of people, “We need to split up, just run. You’ll need all the space you need.” Devin said.

“Sure, but you need the space too. We need to move.” Enzo said while shooting his enemies, he took Devin’s hand and pulled him rapidly away from the commotion taking him to the other side of the field. Enzo ran to the opposite side and started shooting people once again.

Devin with no plan attacked his incoming opponents. He took a mean looking blade and started cutting people in half. Sometimes it will penetrate two men at once which was awesome. Blades don’t have much effect on Devin as well. They made light scratches on his skin but it wouldn’t penetrate. I think the only way it could hurt him was if you poured alcohol into it. That would really sting.

Nancy was doing pretty well with her katana. Enzo told me that she was great with knives but what she could do with a samurai sword was amazing. It was like watching a professional samurai assassinate someone. Her enemies didn’t stand a chance, slices of body parts came flying in. She was slow but her movements were very detailed. She missed every bullet that was shot at her; either she was good at it or those men were lousy shooters. She had so much precision with her katana that it looked as if it was art more than a battle. It looked like it was choreographed for it to look that way. For a girl with a big cut on her abdomen, I just had to give her praise.

My rock extension wasn’t just going to cut it. I need something bigger and something heavier. I glanced at my right and I saw one of their cars parked. I knew I can use it. It might cause me another black out but it will be worth it. I knew that that would be the plan but I need some time. My rock weapon suddenly reduced to crumble from all the collision it has done. ‘I need more time’ I said to myself. The pressure suddenly started growing
