TWO WEEKS LATER

TWO WEEKS LATER. I have now been trapped in this place for two weeks. Fourteen days. Reliving the same day made it hard to keep count, but I managed.

On the bright side, I hadn't lost control since the fight with Kai. I think a part of him still felt guilty for what happened. He also hasn't told me anymore about his past. Is it bad that I wish he would? Maybe it'd give us a chance to connect or something so that living with him could become more bearable.

It's kind of hard to keep yourself entertained in a world where the population is two and you relive the same day over and over. It's almost like a Stephen King version of Groundhog Day. So, I started snooping around and found some books lying around. I found one that read 2009 on the side and figured to give that one a try.

I sat on the couch, opening it up. Immediately I could tell this wasn't a book. It was someone's diary.

For over a century I have lived in secret; hiding in the shadows, alone in the world. Until now. I am a vampire. This is my story... I shouldn't have come back home. I know the risk. But I had no choice. I have to know her.

I felt like I was invading someone's personal life. But I mean, it's not like I even know who this is. They can't come and take it away from me plus, I needed to kill some time. So, I kept reading.

I lost control today. Everything I've kept buried inside came rushing to the surface. I'm simply not able to resist her.

"What are you going?" I heard from behind me, causing me to jump as I quickly closed the book. Looking up, I saw Kai standing above me finding humor that he was able to sneak up on me.

"Don't do that," I sighed.

Kai laughed lightly, "Sorry, I didn't expect you to freak out when I spoke." He paused for a moment. "But then again, I do have that affect on women."

I rolled my eyes, opening the journal back up. Before I could read the next entry, Kai grabbed it right out of my hands.

"What is this?" He asked, walking away with it, before I could grab it back.

"I found it lying around and began to read it," I answered, standing up to take it back from him.

Kai opened the journal and began to read an entry aloud, "There must be a shred of humanity left in my brother," he read in a dramatic voice. "Somewhere," I went to take it away but before I was able to, he lightly pushed me and continued to walk away. "I keep hoping but how do I make him see it? How do I protect her?"

He paused for a moment, trying to contain his laughter. "You're kidding me." He turned to me, holding the journal up. "Steven Salvatore kept a diary?"

"You mean Stefan?" I questioned.

Kai raised his brow "Oh, so you know him?"

"I know of him" I answered. "I know he used to live here before they turned it into a school."
