Jackie tried to focus on their classes, but the night before lingered in their mind.
"Have you ever been in love before, Jackie?" Lucifer asked, a strange look in his eyes.
"Yeah, but, that was so long ago," Jackie dared, Lucifer narrowing his eyes. It was strange, because he wasn't angry. More or less, he was pleased.
"Do you know what you're feeling right now?"
Jackie thought carefully. Their heart wasn't palpitating the way it did when they were in love. Their ex-boyfriend, Jackie didn't dare think his name, was the only person Jackie ever dated. He cheated right before their wedding, Jackie calling it off immediately.
"I wish I was," Jackie whispered, Lucifer now leaning closer to Jackie's face. Their foreheads were now touching. Jackie felt their heart speeding up. Maybe they were in love. "But, I may be. The feeling is growing closer to being familiar.."
Their lips were almost connecting now. The chemistry was almost too great for Jackie to handle, and they could tell Lucifer felt the same way.
"Would you control me?"
"No," Jackie said, without a second thought.
"That's too simple," Lucifer said, his lips grazing Jackie's. "Would I control you?"
"Would you?"
Jackie's body grew hot at the sensation of Lucifer's hand. It was still gloved, but it drove them mad.
"Would I?"
"Jackson Storm," the teacher suddenly said, whacking the desk with a meter stick. "It seems you're in a daze. Care to answer the question on the board?"
Jackie locked their eyes onto the board, hearing a familiar voice whisper in their mind. Lord of the Flies.
"Lord of the Flies," Jackie said with overwhelming confidence. The teacher nodded, walking away. Lucifer smiled at Jackie, seeming to have been thinking of the same thing. Jackie made awkward eye contact with Satan, who seeming rather confused to have seen that situation.
The bell signalled the end of class, Jackie immediately meeting with Satan."What was that about," Satan asked, almost immediately. Jackie promptly shrugged, Lucifer calmly walked over, meeting the two.
"Satan, be sure you're not late to class," Lucifer said, Satan narrowing his eyes in annoyance. Jackie knew Satan didn't like him. "Jackie, come with me."
Jackie followed Lucifer, still surprised that they had the exact same schedule.
"See you later, Satan," Jackie said, Satan responding the same way.
"Were you thinking of last night?"
Jackie locked eyes with Lucifer as they walked beside him.
"Yeah," Jackie said, covering their face with their sketchbook. "It's hard to forget."
"That was the intention," Lucifer said, tugging on Jackie's uniform. "Now, don't be shy, you can hold my hand."
Lucifer's gaze was gentle, Jackie's curiosity getting the better of them. They wrapped their long fingers around Lucifer's. Lucifer ducked down to kiss Jackie's cheek, a voice speaking behind them.
"I don't know who the other human is, Simeon," one voice said, Lucifer glancing behind them. "If I did, I'd probably try to speak with them. They would be well acquainted with the demon brothers, right?"
"Of course, Solomon," the other voice said, Jackie assumed it was Simeon. "I suppose you would want more information to blackmail Asmodeus with, wouldn't you?"
"Solomon, Simeon," Lucifer said, Jackie turning with him. Two men, one with dark skin and black hair and the other with pale skin and white hair. The dark skinned male had, Jackie detested being colorblind, turquoise eyes, and the white haired one had brown eyes. There was a small boy with blonde hair and blue eyes standing next to the dark skinned man.
"Lucifer," the dark skinned man, Jackie recognizing that they were called Simeon, said with a bright smile. Jackie could tell that they were an angel, as well as the little boy. That meant the other was Solomon, who was a human. "Interesting seeing you wandering about and holding someone's hand."
Simeon had gestured to Lucifer and Jackie's clasped hands, Lucifer immediately letting go. Jackie felt a twang of loneliness.
"So, you were selected for the exchange program? As well as the Chihuahua."
"I am not a Chihuahua!" The little boy shouted, not sounding like a little boy. Jackie was taken aback as to how they sounded like an adult.
"Anyway," Solomon said, looking at Jackie but speaking to Lucifer. "Who is this?"
"Ah, yes," Lucifer began, before wrapping an arm around Jackie. "This is Jackson Storm, the second human for the exchange program. They are also my lover."
Jackie felt their face flare up, Simeon's eyes widening at the declaration. The little boy gasped in shock, while Solomon laughed.
"I see," Solomon said, walking up to Jackie. "You probably wouldn't have guessed, but I'm also friends with one of the brothers."
"Asmodeus," Jackie said, taking Solomon aback. "I heard you two talking about the other human and Asmo was mentioned."
"You're pretty sharp," Simeon said, the little boy walking up to Jackie. "Luke, don't be rude. Say hi."
"I'm not a kid, Simeon!" Luke shouted, walking over to Jackie. "My name is Luke. I'll have you know not to disrespect me-!"
"-Because he reports to Archangel Michael," Lucifer finished, rolling his eyes. "Ignore him, Jackie."
Jackie however, choose to be polite.
"Hi, Luke," they began, Lucifer appearing annoyed. "I'm not sure how angels greet people they haven't met before, but humans shake hands."
Luke smiled at Jackie's words, hugging their legs. Simeon started laughing, speaking to Lucifer.
"You and Jackie can have him, Lucy," Simeon said, Lucifer scrunching his nose.
"Absolutely not. And don't call me Lucy."
Jackie giggled, picking Luke off of the ground. He was about as light as they imagined. Lucifer, on the other hand, was simply shocked. He pulled out his D.D.D., before his eyes widened.
"Listen, we can make friends and play with puppies later," Lucifer said, prompting Jackie to put Luke down, which they did. "If we don't hurry, we'll be late to class."
"Ah," Jackie said, Lucifer walking away before they could start moving. "We'll see you all later! Sorry to leave in such a hurry!"
"It's alright," Simeon called after them. "Be safe, Jackson!"
Jackie smiled, rushing after Lucifer. The two clasped hands and still managed to make it to class on time.
