The Girl Who Cried Wolf

Wolves

 As I wondered through the woods listening for my group when I came cross a broken gate that had a sign on it. 

Forbidden Forest 

Keep out

So what did I do? I explored, of course. This must have been the gate the cheer camp bus drove through. I walked a little further before I began hearing voices, maybe my group? I walked a little faster to catch up with them then realized they were singing. There were a few key phrases and words that I picked up that told me they weren't my group.

"We own the night"

"I'm the alpha"

and most importantly,

"WOLVES"

I hid behind a tree when I realized they were getting closer. The singing picked up again but this time it was a male voice. He mentioned that they had picked up the scent and were on the right track. For what? They walked right past my tree and I pressed my back against it hoping I was hidden. A howl made me almost jump out of my skin. As they past me I heard sniffing and it was getting closer.

"Wynter!" A voice called.

"Coming!" The voice was closer than I wanted it to be.

I looked around the corner and watched them disappear into the woods, so I followed them. That is what I'm out here for is it not? Plus, they may be able to lead me out of here. 

The singing continued and we got closer and closer to my school. Seabrook High. They walked inside and I was terrified of what they were planning on doing so, against my better judgement, I followed them. 

I over heard the one that called herself the alpha talking. "We'll hide here, find the girl, get our moonstone, and leave this awful place." I didn't like that.

I peeked around the corner to get a better look when one of the wolves that was closer to the front caught my eye, he was helping the others hide in the air ducts and keeping a lookout. He barely saw me before I hid behind the wall. I am going to have to watch out for him, I thought to myself as I darted out of the building towards my house, it was already midnight and very dark out.
