6 | IS SHE A GIRL!

Nandini POV

I went to the nearest store to get a pack of tampon and pad for myself. I quickly took what I needed and paid the cashier. I walked out of the store and walked towards my street. Three sets of guys were walking behind me and they looked harmful so I decided to walk faster. My legs couldn't carry me faster as I wanted but I tried my best to stay as far as possible from them but before I knew it I got cornered by the three men. One stood behind me and the other was at my front while the last one was at my side. I was trapped in the middle.

"Please let me go!" I screamed at them but they just laughed at me like what I said was funny. I quickly hit one on his groin as I tried to run away.

" fucking bitch!" He cried out in pain"

I couldn't walk too far before I was being captured again by one of them. I struggled so hard but that didn't really help it only tightened his grip on my wrist which hurts so much.

"Let me go! Please"

I got attacked by the one I hit so hard, he landed a slap on my cheek and it stinks so bad. I place my right hand on where it hurts for comfort.

"She's the girl huh?" the who seems so tall amidst them asked.

"Yeah she is"

"What are you guys talking about?"

Before they could answer me, Manik came out of nowhere and punched the one that has so many tattoos on his skin. He pinned him to the ground as he continuously punched his face. Every hit lefts their own scar on his face which was bleeding. The guy managed to throw a punch at Manik but he couldn't throw another one cause Manik took over again. His other friends dare not to come close to Manik. They were both scared and I wondered why. Before I knew it the two guys flew away without any trace immediately Manik stood up and faced them. The other one who was beaten up, managed to stand up and run for his life.

"Who are they? Why were they scared of you?" I manage to ask

"They are nobody and I'm sure they would never bother you again after today. Come, let me walk you home" he said as we walk home together

I chose not to speak again since I was just too shocked to do anything. When we got to my house, we said our goodbyes and he left. I wondered where he was going without his car. When I got in I met my aunt in the kitchen making dinner and she seems cut up with it. I lived with Karishma who is my aunt after my parents died in a car accident. I was ten years old when this happened and ever since then I started living with my aunt. My aunt travels a lot because of her business so I mostly stay at home alone

"What happened to your face? Did you get into a fight in school?"

"No, I fell this morning in the bathroom" I lied just to prevent her from getting worried over me since she is already doing a lot for me.

"How were you so careless? "

" The tiles were wet so I stumbled on it" I lied again.

"Sorry dear and be careful next time" she warned me as I walked upstairs to my room.

When I got to my room, I just kept thinking about the whole thing that happened and where they hit me still hurts like hell.

Why did they even attack me in the first place? Why was Manik the one to come for my rescue? God, I'm so stupid to realise he just saved me. But those guys were acting like someone sent them to finish me up. Who could it be? Fuck! My heart hurts. I need to stop thinking and rather take care of my cheek that hurts.

I went to shower before going back downstairs to help my aunt in the kitchen and also take a pack of ice for my wounded cheek. She was already done so I just helped in dishing the food for us as we settled on the dining in the kitchen. We ate and talked about my school and her business.

"So Nandini, do you have a boyfriend now?"

I almost choked on my food just by that question, the thing is I've only dated only one guy in my life but it ended badly and I never dated after then.

"What! Did I say something wrong?"

"No, I'm just surprised you asked since you weren't in support of my first one which ended badly"

"You're seventeen now, Nandini so you aren't getting younger and you're old enough to have one but let me know when you do so I can get to meet him, okay?"

"Yes I will," I said as we ate quickly.

After eating, I washed the dishes and my aunt decided to turn on the tv since today was our movie night. I quickly took care of my wound as she prepared the popcorn.

" You're the one picking today so what movie are you planning to pick?"

"Fifty Shades of Grey" I happily said.

"We watched that movie like many times this year"

"There is no big deal in watching it again"

"Fine let's watch"

We put off all the light in the sitting room as we settled down to watch the movie. Throughout the movie, no one spoke and it continued that way till it finished.

"No way! We are not watching fifty darker"

"Why not?"

"I said no!" I just laughed and we decided to watch something else. We didn't even reach the middle of the movie before my aunt started snoring. I covered her with a blanket and went to sleep.
