Chapter 16

(Anything written like this is Cottontails thoughts talking to Luna)

(A year later)

I looked out at the truck. No one had been here before, at least, not while I've been here. I had gotten Mimi to hide, in case they were here for scraps. But they weren't looking around for scrap metal...they were looking around...in fear? "They're afraid alright." Luna stated. Finally, one of the two men opened the back door of the truck. I couldn't see what was inside straight away, but I didn't have to. The men pulled out a blue cat animatronic. Did it come from Candy's? After dumping the robot aside, the men quickly jumped in the truck, slamming the doors shut before zooming off. Everything was silent for a while. I decided to take a closer look of the robot. "Bon-bon no! It could be dangerous!" I sighed angrily. "Luna, you know what my name is now, so use it. And besides, if it was alive, it would've woken up by now, don't you think?" I replied. Luna huffed, but said nothing. I took that as an ok sign from Luna. I cautiously crawled out from my hiding place. The robot was on its side, its back facing me. I was soon standing over it. "See Luna? Nothing to be scared of. It's not alive." Luna huffed again. I poked it gently. Nothing happened. Then I decided to grab the arm. Still nothing. I started dragging it. I could use these parts-
"BON-BON LOOK OUT!" Its leg kicked out at me, hitting me in the knee. I quickly dropped the animatronic. It got up from the ground, turning to face me. My eyes turned an emerald green. Luna had taken over. She growled. The cat hissed. We stayed in a defence position for a minute. "'It's not alive' you said. 'It'll be fine' you said..." Luna mumbled. "Oh shut it..." I replied. Luna never took her eyes off the cat. It was silent up until it spoke. "Who are you? You look...familiar..." She mumbled. Yeah. A she. And her voice sounded familiar. That's when I decided to take over. "It's more like who are you? You look like you're from Candy's." I stated. The cat was taken aback. "You know Candy's?" I nodded. "I take it you're a ghost too." I looked her up and down. The cat gently, yet cautiously, let her hands drop. "How'd you know?..." I shrugged. That you're moving in a broken body."
"You...must be a ghost too?..." She was still eyeing me off. I nodded once. "What's your name then?" I asked. She hesitated before answering. "Charlie..." That name...where have I heard it before? "I've told you my name, so what's yours?" I hesitated too. "C-cottontail..."
"C'mon! That's not your real name! No body would name their kid that!" This was what I was afraid of. I wanted her to know me as Cottontail, but she probably won't trust me. I could tell by her behaviour she wasn't 5. "...Bonnie." I finally said. If this will get her to trust me, then I'll tell her my past name. Her face turned to that of surprise. "Bonnie? Could it be?...No...nonono you can't be Bon-bon...I-I'm sorry, I'm just...having a lot of déjà vu..." I stared at her. How?... "How do you know her name?!" Luna screeched. I quickly covered my mouth. The cat 'Charlie' stared back at me. "B...Bon-bon?" I looked her up and down. "How do you know my name?" I asked more quietly. Charlie's eyes filled up with tears. I didn't know all robots could do that... "I-is it really you? It's me, your best friend...Charlie..." I shook my head. "I don't remember much of my past life, only specific things..." I stated. Charlie's smile faded a little. "You don't remember? You don't remember the little girl that you grew up with? That you got in trouble with? We worked together in Freddy's for one night...we almost died...the one who found out your secret when we were home alone? The dragon secret?" I stared at her in shock now. I remembered all those, but I couldn't remember the name of the girl. I racked my brain. It started with an S didn't it? No...a C...yes...Cathrine? No...Ca...Ch...wait...the voice had sounded familiar... "Ch-Charlie? That was your name...right? C-could it really be...?" Before I knew it, Charlie had tackled me to the ground. "OH MY GOD BONNIIIIIEEEEE!! IT'S YOU!! IT'S REALLY YOU!! I THOUGHT I'D NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN!!" After a moments hesitation, I hugged her back. Hard. "I...thought so too..."
"What happened Bon-bon? People said you committed suicide! Others said you died in that fire! No one knows what happened. What happened to you? What happened to...Luna, right? No one found her..." I didn't say anything. Charlie stopped hugging me to face me. "Bonnie? What's wrong?" I'm surprised Luna hasn't said anything yet. I sighed. "My name isn't Bonnie anymore. It's Cottontail. And with what happened, I'll tell you another time. I...don't want to talk about it yet..." Charlie got pissed. "I deserve to know, don't I? I'm your best friend right? Please I'm here for you! Just tell me what's wrong!" I started stressing. "I-I can't! I CAN'T! I CAN'T! I CAN'T!" I screamed. Charlie stopped, scooting back quickly. I covered my head with my hands. It hurts..."KID! CALM DOWN! YOU'LL WAKE HIM UP!" Who? "Remember me?~" I looked around in terror. I could hear Luna screaming in my head, but I didn't know what she was saying. It sounded like there was a battle raging inside my head. I kept my hands on my head. After a few minutes, everything went silent. "I...it's ok Bon-bon. He's...gone...for now..."
"Was that who I think it was?"
"Yeah...it was...but your safe for now..." I sighed. I didn't know he was still in my head. "A-are you ok?" Came Charlies voice. I quickly looked up. Charlie was looking at me with...fear...and shock. "Yeah...I think so..." I replied. "Kid...I think stressing brings him back...try to stay as calm as you can. Stress gives him opportunity to take control." I nodded. Charlie came closer. After a while, she hugged me again. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that..." I sighed once again. "No...it's my fault...I should tell you...it would be better than keeping it to myself..." We sat there for the rest of the afternoon, as I told her my story.

(time skip)

"So...that's how I came to be here." We sat in silence. "I think it's your turn now Charlie. What happened to you? How'd you die? What did you do before you died?" Charlie laughed slightly. It sounded more nervous than anything. "Oh...well, after you went missing, everything turned to chaos. Your family looked every where, even the owner of Freddy's. They checked everywhere, and your dad even came to me in private and said they couldn't find Luna either. He was worried she'd gone rogue, and might kill someone. They found your body in the backroom of Freddy's. It was in the newspaper too. A while later, they also found the bodies of the missing kids. You remember them right? They found them inside the animatronics. My theory was right... Well, everything almost went back to normal. Freddy's closed though, and was later demolished. I got a job as a mechanic. I worked at Candy's, fixing up the animatronics there. After a few years of that, though...I got in an accident...the animatronic I was working on malfunctioned, and...I died..." That sounded familiar somewhere... "I don't know how long I was in Candy's for. Maybe a few years? A while after, I was dragged here. That's my story. So Bon- I mean, Cottontail, what happened to Luna? I never got an answer..." Luna took over. "Haha! I'm right here kid! I'm the reason your BFF is alive. Well...sorta..." Charlie looked at me weirdly. I giggled. "Yeah. That was Luna. She...died too." Charlie's face turned to that of understanding. Thankfully she didn't ask the dreaded question. I didn't tell her what happened to Luna...that 'incident'... "Charlie, do you know why I don't remember anything?" I asked. Charlie shrugged. "Maybe you lost some, since you committed suicide. I forgot some memories. Like what people look like." I nodded. I got up. "Well, since story time's over, do you want me to show you around?" She nodded. "One more quick question Charlie...do you want to keep that name?" She looked down. "I...take that as a no...you want a new start?" She nodded. After a while of debating, she settled for the name Lucy. It fit her purrfectly (PUN XD). I had totally forgotten about Mimi in the time I'd reunited with Char- Lucy.

(another time skip)

We lived in the abandoned pizzeria for many years. We were happy, with our new names, our new lives. Well, as happy as we could be. I kept having nightmares of Luna's death, of my family, and of Grimmel. Luna would calm me down most of the time whenever this happened, but still...
I also had a feeling Lucy was having nightmares too. I'd wake up in the middle of the night to hear her whimpering. It's not like her to do that. But then again, we've both changed...
We didn't meet anyone else for years, but that all changed in 2014...

Our lives would change forever...
