So, maybe Inosuke had heard of a certain facemask that was good for one’s skin.

And, maybe, just maybe, he’s gotten curious and decided to make it.

And he’d fucked it up and now had a bright  blue face.

Whatever, that didn’t matter. Because Crow had sent him and Tanjiro their first official assignment.

“Where are we going?” Tanjiro asked. It wasn’t uncommon for demon hunters to travel to far away towns to complete their assignments.

“It’s in this town,” Inosuke instructed as they got geared up. “And it’s urgent.”

The two arrived at the scene within a few minutes. The once bustling and busy shopping mall was empty.

Well, not exactly.

“There’s a demon in here,” Tanjiro stated after a few sniffs. “And they’re close by.”

Tanjiro glanced at Inosuke. “What’s our objective?”

“Miracle,” Inosuke grumbled. He hated having to use that damn serum, he just preferred slashing the demon to bits.

Tanjiro nodded and, cautiously, they advanced.

Within a few minutes, they started to find bright pink, glowing flowers growing on the ground.

“We’re close,” Tanjiro stated, the sweet heady scent making him a bit lightheaded.

Inosuke froze in his tracks.

Up ahead was a ridiculously large flowerbud, right in the middle of the building.

“Tanjiro…”

But Tanjiro wasn’t listening. He swayed where he stood, using a hand to cover his mouth and nose and coughing.

Inosuke growled. The scent was clearly too much for him, and it was coming from that big flower.

Inosuke charged towards the bud. Tanjiro’s eyes went wide.

“Inosuke, wait--!”

The flower bloomed.

Inosuke was knocked violently to the side as a figure slowly emerged from the outspread petals.

“You interrupted my beauty sleep…” the demon stated, his voice soft and sweet. Bright pink hair fell into his eyes, which were big a soft purple color. He was small and doll-like, and if not for the bloodstains surrounding him, one could almost mistake him as harmless.

Inosuke was on his feet in seconds. The demon turned to face him, a bored look on his face as Inosuke tried to attack again.

“Don’t touch me!”

Tanjiro’s eyes widened as he slammed Inosuke against the wall.

He shook his head, trying to snap out of it. The demon slowly turned to Inosuke, scowling and advancing slowly.

“What a disgusting pig, charging at me like that,” he hissed. “I’ll put you out of your misery.”

Tanjiro’s eyes grew wide. He clutched his sword and pushed the button on the hilt. A light purple hue appeared on the blade, evidence 0f the fact that the serum was now at work.

The demon’s petals spread, about to completely envelope Inosuke.

Tanjiro rushed over, and in one swift movement, he slashed at the demon’s neck.
