Soda's POV
I jerk awake, "Caren!"
Hands push me back down, ruff and strong. Darry.
"Darry, where's Caren. Is she alright?" I ask frantically. My eyes searching rapidly around the room.
Darry looks down, "They took her, but we're gonna her back."
I shake my head, it's not true, Caren has to be here somewhere.
Then I remember seeing her as that man came up from behind her. She can't be gone.
I try to sit up, but my head immediately pounds in pain.
I groan.
"Where'd they take her?" I ask again, trying to believe that this was all just a dream.
Two-Bit raises his voice, "Chicago...at least we're assuming."
I need to find her, the way she acted when she heard they were lookin for her, she was scared. I have never seen her so scared before.
"I have to go." I persist.
Darry places a hand on my shoulder, "The doctors say you need to stay for another day. You've got a bruised rib."
"I need to go." I say again.
"No." He demands.
"Gosh dang it," I say annoyed, "I need to find her. I don't know what's happening to her right now!"
I look around the room, Steve isn't here.
Darry notices my gaze, and answers my unspoken question, "He heard Caren yelling and got there just in time to see their car leave. He's following em."
I want to be with him, but I feel grateful that he's cares so much about my fiancé.
My pounding head brings me back into reality, and I groan, laying back down.
I will find them, and I will kill them for what they did.
