In an ocean of apparent nothing a young boy lies rolled up seemingly asleep. Two shadowy figures approach the boy.
Mysterious deep voice: Awaken young child.
The boy slowly sits up still rubbing his eyes.
Boy: What, who are you? Who am I?
Second mysterious voice: Calm now trickster, we do not mean to withhold any information from you. I am Igor, he is Yaldabaoth. You do not yet have a name for you have not been born.
Boy: Woah, slow down, first why am I here?
Yaldabaoth: We are here to discuss the matter of your fate. As of now you are a prisoner of fate. You are doomed to a life of hatred and despair.
With those words the nothingness around them slowly took shape and color. The boy was crying in an ally wearing rags, covered in apparent cuts and bruises. From the shadows within the alley chains seemed to form leading up to shackles around his wrists and ankles.
Igor: Or at least you would be. We are here to present you with another option. We can release the restraints on your soul and make your life one full of fortune.
Suddenly the chains turned to dust and the alley turned into a warm living room with the boy now sitting on the couch.
Boy: Ok, but what's the catch?
Yaldabaoth: Cleaver boy. The catch is that your fate will forever be tied to that of two other "players" in our game.
Out of the floor cam two shadowy figures pointing guns at each other on either side of the boy. One figure had a long tailcoat and the other had a short cape and a long pointy nose. New chains form that shackle the young boy to the new figures.
Boy: What game, you are both so vague.
Igor: The details of the game are not important, all you need to know is that each of us have picked a contestant and we have agreed to add a wild impartial element to the game in order to make it more interesting.
Boy: Just to clarify I am being given the options to either be born into a horrible life as is, or be born into a nicer life but be a part in this "game" involving who knows what. Where I'm assuming I will be in some sort of danger.
Yaldabaoth & Igor : Precisely
Boy: I feel like there's only one real choice.
The living room disappeared turning back into an ocean of nothing.
Boy: Let's get this game started!
