Just Borrowing

Y/n is standing by the station eating a sandwich waiting for Mito. The sun is just barely starting to rise but he already looks impatient. In the distance he sees Mito running over wearing his backpack and a satchel.

Y/n: Took you long enough we were supposed to meet half an hour ago.

Mito: Well I'm not the last one here, where's Yua?

Y/n: We're meeting her there so let's go.

Mito: Wait where are we going you never told me!

Mito follows Y/n onto the subway and they sit down next to each other.

Mito: So where are we going and what are we doing there?

Y/n: You wouldn't believe me if I told you, but the basic idea is we need to get to the top of a building but the security isn't exactly fond of us. I'll be doing most of the fighting until you feel up to it, and Yua is going to help me if/ when I get injured.

Mito: Ok, that's not the most unbelievable thing in the world, but what will I be doing,  and why did I have to bring bags.

Y/n: Well the building is full of all sorts of little trinkets that will probably sell for a pretty penny. So you'll be "borrowing" them and helping fund our operation.

Mito: What happened to "I promise its nothing illegal" it sounds like we're breaking into a building and robbing them blind; which newsflash buddy is pretty illegal.

Y/n: At the top of the building is something very important to Yua. We need to take it. The security isn't human so take that as you may, and it's not stealing just permanently borrowing it.

The subway pulled to a stop, and Y/n stood up.

Y/n: Common this is our stop.

Mito follows him.

Y/n: From here it's just a short run that way.

Mito: How much is a short run?

Y/n scratches the back of his head and flashes a devilish smile.

Y/n: Just try to keep up.

Mito sweat drops but follows without another word.

Y/n takes of running with Mito falling behind a bit. Y/n jumps over a handrail and slides down a hill to run by a river without loosing momentum while Mito ends up rolling down the hill in an attempt to copy Y/n. He slows down and turns back to check on his friend.

Y/n: You ok there?

Mito: Yah, but not all of us do parkour every morning. God, how do you run like that, and why aren't you in track.

Y/n: First off you should, it's a great way to start of the day and stay fit. I could teach you if you want. Second off like you said I do it every day so I'm pretty good at it. Finally, originally that was my plan. That's the main reason I came to Shujin, I heard it had a great track team, but once I saw the new coach and the way he treated the team I got out of there real quick.

Mito: You know I might take you up on that offer. As for the track thing, that's a real shame. What's the coach like?

Y/n: I don't know much about him. His name is Kamoshida, he was a gold medalist in something, and he hates the track team.

Mito: Someone ought to do something about him.

Y/n: Maybe someday but right now we got to get to Yua.

Mito: Right, lead the way.

The two jog the rest of the way to where Yua is waiting for them.

Yua: There you two are! Took you long enough to get here!

Y/n: Sorry, Mito here took a little tumble.

Mito sweatdrops and puts his hand on the back of his head.

Mito: Sorry. Now where are we going.

Yua: We're here.

Mito: Where's the tall building?

Y/n grabs Mito's shoulder and Yua's arm. The sky fades and ripples between purple read and black. The building ones again turns into the theater building. Y/n's and Yua's clothes change into their Metaverse attire.

Y/n: Right there.

Mito screams and falls to the ground.

Mito: Aahhhh what the ..!!!! What just happened!!

He turns and sees Y/n wearing a mask and suit.

Mito's eyes go wide in a flurry of confusion and fear. Then his eyes land on Yua and her new clothes and his jaw drops. Y/n notices this then pulls Mito up and punches his shoulder.

Y/n: Get a grip. It's me Y/n and that's Yua. Remember how I said you wouldn't believe me? Yah this is the unbelievable part.

Mito: Ok but where are we.

Yua: We're in my dad's mind. Don't question it.

She turns to Y/n.

Yua: So how are we getting back up, or do you plan on starting from floor one again?

Y/n points to the open window that they had previously left from.

Y/n: We get in the same way we got out.

Mito: Do you expect us to climb up the side of the building?

Y/n: No I brought rope. I'll climb up, tie it to something stable and through the rest down.

Yua: And how do you plan to get up there? Climbing up is a lot harder than jumping down.

Y/n: You underestimate me Ruby.

Without another word he runs at the side of the building, kicks of the wall and grabs a windowsill. He proceeds to jump from window to window climbing up until he reaches the open window and climbs in. He ties one end of the rope the the railing on the stairs and tosses the rest out. Then waits as Yua and Mito climb up.

Mito: You have got to teach me how to do that!

Y/n: Sure meet me by the station every morning, in a few months you'll be able to climb like that without breaking a sweat. Offer stands for you too Yua.

Yua: Maybe not every day but I'll consider it.

They slowly go up the stairs when something catches Y/n's eye.

Y/n: Mito, come here.

Mito: What's up ?

Y/n picks up a gold pair of sunglasses off of a pedestal.

Y/n: Here, things like this, this is what we need to "borrow".

Mito takes them and places them in his backpack.

Y/n: Take it upon yourself to pick up whatever looks expensive. After taking out what we need to buy our supplies we'll split the rest evenly.

Mito: Sir yes sir.

He throws a camera into his bag.

They quickly reach the top of the stairs.

Mito: We're here already?

Yua: No this place is strange,  the stairs are spit up, we'll explore this floor until we find the next flight.

Y/n: This is where the fighting comes in. Every floor is guarded and we have to fight them to get through. Stay a safe distance from them. I'll take care of the fighting.

He pulls out his gun.

Mito visibly flinches.

Y/n notices and smirks.

Y/n:  You haven't seen anything yet.

On "yet" Y/n kicks open the door and runs in.
