College Days

Chapter Six

Edward played with this pencil as he leaned back in his chair and nodded his head to his Ipod. Tumingin si Kisses mula sa kanyang libro at pinihit palakas ang volume nang Ipod causing Edward to throw off his headphones.
"Ay, na istorbo ba kita," ngumiti siya at sumama ang tingin sa kanya ni Edward.
"Look this is boring as hell, bakit di mo na lang ibigay sa akin ung sagot sa first test and we'll call it a day"
"Ok it is official you are dumber than you look. Dr. Lopez doesn't just keep the same tests each semester. Gumagawa sya nang new test, new answers, and new idiots like you are obviously the reason why." Umayos nang upo si Edward sa kanyang upuan.
"I'm not an idiot, look you have no clue what the hell I have to go through little miss perfect. Some of us actually have to work our asses to stay in school."
"Oh please like scoring touchdowns is real work"
"Baskets, its baskets Kisses, touchdowns are football not basketball, and I thought you were the smart one" Parehong nagikot ang kanilang mga mata at inilagay niya ang libro sa harapan ni Edward.
"How much hydrogen is in H2O," tanong niya at nagkibit-balikat lang si Edward.
"Enough to fail me," he said and she yelled frustrated.
"You are the same guy you were in highschool," she shouted and he smiled.
"So I guess you want to sleep with me then" he laughed then Kisses got up.
"That's it, this was a huge mistake. Edward I get it ok, nakukuha mo kung ano man ang gusto mo cause you are a jock, but you know what, you don't get what you want this time" he stood up as well.
"I've had you remember" he smirked and tears welled up in her eyes. Nakunsensya si Edward sa nasabi nya.

Kisses I'm...."

"Get out! And when I say that I don't just mean for the night Edward. Get out of my room, this house, and my life. Humanap ka nang ibang tutulong sayo na willing to put up with your shit" sabi niya at itinulak niya si Edward palabas ng kanyang silid before slamming the door.
Edward went to knock but didn't. Bumuntong hininga siya at naglakad patungo sa hagdan. Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa isang mahabang panahon, nahihiya si Edward sa kanyang mga ginawa. Tama si Kises, palaging nakuha niya ang gusto niya for the most part because he was an athlete. Teachers passed him in highschool just so he could play and now he was in college but it wasn't that way. Kung bumagsak sya, he would be ineligible and probably kicked off the team kung ipagpapatuloy nya pa ung ganito na ginagawa nya. What worried him more was that he hurt Kisses. With any other girl, he would shake it off and just find another one, but Kisses was different. He walked out of the house and naisip na lang nya umuwi sa frat house at itulog na lang nya ang araw na to.

The next day after theater, Borj and Roni went to his place to study their lines. They were getting to the second act of the play and Roni just sighed.
"What's wrong that part was easy," he said and she rolled her eyes.
"Says the Harvard guy," tumawa si Roni habang umiling lang si Borj.
"Look I know this stuff can be hard but you have to put yourself in the play, kung ikaw si Juliet and nag uusap tayo nang ganito, what would you be trying to say?"
"I would probably say na this is too confusing and sabihan si Romeo na magsalita nang English" sabi niya at tumawa si Borj.
"This is English, just older English" paliwanag niya at umiling-iling si Roni habang nakatingin sa kanya.
"Kinakabahan ka noh," tanong niya at tumango si Roni.
"Borj I have never done a play before and this stuff makes me feel totally out of my league. Tapos kailangan pa naten magperform sa harap nang maraming tao. I keep telling myself people wont come to it but it is Romeo and Juliet" she laughed and he nodded. Inilagay niya ang kamay nito sa kanya and gave her a smile.
"No matter what, I'll be there the whole time and if you screw up it won't matter, alam naten kung paano tulungan ang isat isa Rons, we always made a good team" he informed and she blushed.
"You haven't called me Rons mula nang nakarating ka rito," aniya at namula rin si Borj.
"Sorry, I forgot, do you not like being called that anymore?" Umiling iling siya.
"No I don't mind, it's just nice to hear," aniya at tumango si Borj. He cleared his throat at sinimulang basahin muli ang kanilang mga linya.

Ang mga sumunod na linggo went by great at nagsisimula na maging magkaibigansila Borj and Roni. In a lot of way they didn't miss a beat even though they were apart for so long. They we're going over lines that night sa dorm ni Borj katulad nang mga nakarang araw.
"Ok the orchard scene always confuses the hell out of me. Alam ko nag uusap sila and I'm guessing Romeo is sweeping me off my feet pero ano ba ung sinsabi nya" tumawa siya at ganon din si Borj.
