25 - From 400,000 Kilometers To Her

"I wonder what does the moon think as it looks down on me?"

"It'd probably say, 'Ah, that one looks like a loser and an idiot.', I guess."

With my whole startled self, I abruptly twist my torso to look where the voice came from!

My brain starts to lag as my eyes go round. Every part of me pauses; thoughts trying to catch up with the moment.

Trying to remember how to breathe . . .

"Kei?!"

. . . I incredulously shout his name.

Having a cold-masked face, he greets me with a deadpanned voice, saying, "Your Highness, it's been a while."

My eyes and mouth are left open in an expression of an utter surprise. I can't say anything, but all I know, his face and his voice bounce in every corner of my skull.

Despite being motionless, I manage to stand up; although, I appear so bewildered.

"Wha . . . W-Who are you calling 'idiot', idiot?!" My face is surely flustered just talking to him. "More importantly! Why are you here?"

Kei stands up as well, facing me still. "Can't I be here?"

"Yes!" I exclaim, "You should be 400,000 kilometers away from me!"

With my statement, his facial expression has been deliberately garbled by me.

"Are you, perhaps, pertaining to the real moon?" The corners of his eyes crinkle as his jaw goes slack, showing a stolid expression.

"Uh-huh," I nod my head twice, "That's why you should be 400,000 kilometers away from me! Sayonara!"

And without further ado, I start running away!

I'm mentally screaming! How the heck did he find me here?

Coincidence?

It's not! There's no way it is a coincidence! Baka, baka, baka!

I'm not good at running, but all I know, I HAVE TO GO!

And why am I running??

Well, I don't know again . . . but that's it! I don't know!

Not too long when I hear some stomps coming from behind.

Unconsciously, I peer over my left shoulder.

Then my heart drops down up to the pit of my stomach when I see Kei chasing after me!

"Wh—!!" My eyes are wide open and mouth is still parted. "Why are you chasing me?!" then I blurt out.

"Ehh . . . Can't I?"

It is just a glimpse when I look at him, but Kei still has that passive facial expression.

Is this some kind of joke?!

"Of course, you can't! You salted biological mutation!" I scream out while running faster than before!

"Stupid, stop running!" His annoyed reply.

"Stop chasing after me! You look like a creep! Eeekkk, yaadaaaaa!!"

I know to myself that I don't have that strong stamina, thus my pace starts to slow down, and in just seconds, Kei will catch up!

The place where I currently live is still far away. Darn. I wandered a lot.

The stomping sounds continue, and expectedly but surprisingly, there's an arm appeared in front of my eyes! In no such time, Kei's whole from appears, blocking the way so that I can't run any further!
