Chapter 4: Not Just Strength

No POV:

"So you want to learn more about Y/N?" captain Ōbi asks the rookie Shinra. "Yes sir I want to know why he has those powers and who he talks to" Shinra answers. "Now I can't tell you everything it's not my place but what I can tell you is just the basics about Y/N" Ōbi says. "Please sir tell me" Shinra asks "why do you want to know more?" Ōbi asks. Shinra looks at the captain "when he said that name Asmodeus and what happened afterwards I've never seen power like that before" Shinra answers.

Captain Ōbi chuckles lightly "do you know what nicknames Y/N was given back in the academy?" Ōbi asks Shinra. "No sir I don't know" Shinra answers "well for those who saw him as a good person they called him the Burning Poet or the Master of Flames, those who feared him called him the Flame Demon" Ōbi answered. "I didn't know that" Shinra says "that's not all members of the church compare him to the great sun god Sol calling him the Fire God while the priest who raised him called him son" Ōbi added.

"What do you all call him?" Shinra asked "we call him Y/N or a friend" Ōbi answered. "Sir that still doesn't answer my question about what I saw at the factory" Shinra says. "Y/N already told you didn't he that he's what's called a generation alpha he has control over other flame elements" Ōbi said. "Yes he did he said he became an alpha when he combusted and turned into an infernal only to return back to normal" Shinra said.

"That's what you saw, the reason he was called the Flame Demon is because it is believed that Y/N sees the personifications of the flames" Ōbi explained. "I still don't get it sir" Shinra said "around Y/N are supposedly beings made of the elements Y/N controls, when needed Y/N says one of their names and they take control or give him a power boost luckily it was just Asmodeus and a power boost" Ōbi said.

That took Shinra back a bit "how many does he see?" he asked. "From my knowledge Y/N sees six, they all have their own personalities and they will try to convince Y/N to do things" Ōbi answered. "In your case the one you should try to avoid is Lucifer" Ōbi told Shinra. "Who's Lucifer? Shinra asks "Lucifer is the embodiment of sulfur and he is the one who tries to make Y/N kill people who he deems are evil, you may not be a devil but you still bare the name" Ōbi warned. Shinra gulped "thank you for the information sir" Shinra said "don't mention it kid but remember be careful" Ōbi said.

Before Shinra left the office he turns around and looks at captain Ōbi. "Sir you don't actually believe those beings are real and they can convince Y/N to do things?" Shinra asks. Ōbi looks directly at Shinra "honestly from what I've seen I don't know but what I do know is that no matter what Y/N will help you become a better fire soldier" Ōbi answers. "Thanks again sir" Shinra says as he closes the door and leaves.

All alone Ōbi reads over a new file he received. "Another new recruit Y/N is going to have his hands full hopefully he won't kill this one either" Ōbi says tossing the file on to his desk. The file shows the image of a young blonde kid with the name "Arthur".

Y/N POV:

Today was new day I woke up early like I normally do I did my reps, took a shower brushed my teeth and ate breakfast. The only different thing about my day was that I would have to begin training with the new rookie Shinra Kusakabe. I saw potential in him as did the others. When I mean others I don't mean my fellow fire soldiers in the station. I mean them Balrog, Fuji, Enenra, Asmodeus and Kashgar they saw potential in him. However Lucifer did not he saw the boy as threat an evil that needed to be exterminated. I don't know why exactly it could be because of his grin that he has when he's nervous or the fact that his nickname is devil. Either way he was my responsibility and I wasn't going to let Lucifer kill him.
