Chapter 5: Rookie Games

Fire Force Company 8

No POV:

"Y/N I need you to participate in the games with both Shinra and Arthur" Ōbi tells Y/N. "No" Y/N says immediately after "it's not like you have a choice Y/N" Ōbi says. "Why do I have to participate?" Y/N asks Ōbi. The captain sighs "out of all the companies we are the only ones with the least rookies" Ōbi answers. "I'm not a rookie chief so I can't participate in the games" Y/N argues.

"That's just it though, you are considered a rookie, barely though next month you won't be a rookie anymore" Ōbi explains to Y/N. "I still don't want to do it chief I'm busy" Y/N says "what would you be doing during the games?" Ōbi asks Y/N. "I figured I'd go on a lake shore drive chief" Y/N answers sarcastically. "Listen Y/N I known you have some work to do with the Flames but this company needs you" Ōbi says.

Y/N looks at the emblem of the first flame on his left forearm after Ōbi said that. "Fine chief I'll do it, but I won't go over the top I want to let our real rookies shine brightly" Y/N says. With the talk over Y/N gets up and is about ready to leave the office. "Y/N before you go remember, tomorrow is another day" Ōbi says to Y/N. "Ha ha ha, very funny chief" Y/N says as he vanishes in cloud of smoke.

Ōbi turns around in his chair and kicks his feet up on his desk. "You know I really need to rewatch that movie" Ōbi says to himself

Fire Force Rookie Games

It is the day of the rookie fire fore games and Shinra is super excited to be here. He is next to another generation 3 fire soldier. Her name is Tamaki Kotatsu she is from company 1. When Shinra let's out a happy shout Tamaki tells him to quiet down. Immediately Shinra notices Tamaki's revealing outfits that she has on right now. He begins to blush badly at what he sees. Tamaki takes notice of this and asks Shinra what he was looking at. To that answers saying nothing Y/N comes over and drags Shinra away. "You don't get to see boobs when your a fire soldier" Y/N says.

Y/N POV:

After dragging Shinra away from that girl he and I met up with Maki and Arthur. Maki was in her officer uniform while I was in my fire soldier gear. In front of us were the mascots of the Fire Force. An old man, a dog and a cat each had their own number on their helmets a 1, another 1 and a 9. For some reason Maki acted like a little girl around then. "It's Wone Wone Nyine!!!" Maki said with child like glee.

"Who are those guys?" Shinra asked Maki "their the mascots of the Fire Force Wone Wone Nyine" Maki answered. "They use to be two dogs and cat but the higher ups changed it to an old man who looks like a dog with a dog and a cat" I explained to Shinra. "Really?, They should of kept it to two dogs and a cat" Shinra said.

That made Maki upset "what, you don't mean that Mamaru is adorable" she said like a child. I sighed at the display "come on Maki stop being such a kid" I said. "I am not Mamaru is adorable" Maki replied. "Really, him?" Shinra asked pointing at the mascot. Maki nodded up and down "him?" Shinra asked again Maki kept nodding.

Time Skip

I was standing with Shinra as he watched as all of the Fire Force ran around and got ready for the games. "Listen up Shinra as you know I'll be joining you and the others in the games, now I expect you to do your best" I told him. "I understand Y/N I'll do my very best I'll blow the competition away" Shinra replied. "Good you'll need that confidence during the games but remember what I taught you" I said "yeah don't be cocky and remember why we are fire soldiers" Shinra said.
