Yennefer and Jaskier had their defenses up and Geralt was in front of Aphrodite, protecting her. He had his sword in the air, right against Yennefer's neck.
Yennefer's eyes had widened, and at first, she had felt betrayed. She did not think that after she and Geralt had become friends would he lift a sword against her neck.
She had then realized that this was always like Geralt, and when he had realized that he had put his sword against Yennefer's neck, he moved the sword to Jaskier's neck.
He had then said in a low and menacing voice,
"Do not touch her," Geralt spoke.
He had said the same thing that he had said to the people in Blaviken when they were killing Renfri. He did not realize that, and he had kept his stance.
"We do not even know this girl, and now she knows Ciri's secret," Jaskier said. Yennefer nodded her head behind him.
They did not know Aphrodite like the Geralt knew her.
They did not know that he would die for this girl, that she had earned his trust by being there for him. Earning that was no easy feat, and anyone who had met Geralt would know this.
"I trust her," Ciri spoke up behind Yennefer and Jaskier.
Everyone had thus snapped their heads to where Ciri was standing.
They could not believe what she was saying, though they did not know the bond that Ciri and Aphrodite already share. Even though Aphrodite may not know about it, but Ciri knew a lot about her.
She was not willing to let this woman go.
Ciri had no one left, and she had never felt so bonded with someone as she had with Aphrodite. Ciri needed that. No one would understand it, but she needed Aphrodite more than anyone. Sure Geralt was there, but he had been sworn to protect her.
Even though Yennefer had tried to break some of the tension that was present within the group, it was incredibly difficult. Ciri just wanted someone who she could relate to, and not be on the record all the time.
It had already begun to get frustrating at some point for her, and she wanted a semi-normal life before she would, with the help of her new companions, take back her kingdom from those who had stolen it from her.
"Geralt, they have done nothing wrong, put your sword down," Aphrodite spoke.
Almost as though it was a command, Geralt had dropped the sword and it fell with a clang. He had then turned his body around to face her. Even though he knew that he had come in between his two companions before they could do any damage, he still wanted to be absolutely sure that she was not injured.
He had grasped her face in his hands and had then begun to inspect her, looking for any injuries that he had not seen before.
"I'm fine Geralt, calm down," Aphrodite spoke with a small laugh.
She had then glanced at the rest of the group and gave them a dazzling smile. She had then spoken to the group,
"Now that the situation is somewhat handled, why don't you guys stay the night?"
