ellie had been scolding y/n for the past few minutes, which felt like hours... as y/n sat there and watched her girlfriend semi-yell and glare at her every so often.

y/n and ellie had a job to do assigned by tommy; to go find more weapons as they were running low on ammo, guns, arrows, etc., but while they were out, y/n thought it'd be a good idea to play a little prank on her girlfriend, as if she got bit. and it seemed to work as ellie was literally panicking and was on the verge of tears, but the girl stopped and told her it was a joke. ellie wasn't very happy...

"do you know that you scared the shit out of me!?" ellie shouted. "i thought you were gonna die!"

"i know, a-and i'm sorry, baby," y/n started, trying to calm her tense partner down who was staring daggers at her. "i told you that it was a joke. don't we always just mess around—"

"yeah, but we never went that far," ellie said. "you don't joke like that, y/n... what if it actually happens, huh?"

y/n hadn't thought about that. her reckless actions almost drove her girlfriend into a heart attack, and on top of that, could be jinxing herself. silence filled the room as ellie stared at y/n expectantly. "you're right... i'm so sorry, ellie."

ellie dismissively waved her hand at y/n before storming off into their bedroom. the girl got up from the couch, following into the room. she knew she probably should've left her girlfriend alone for a bit, but she didn't want to be angry with each other and possibly go to sleep angry.

"ellie... baby, i said i was sorry-"

"and i need a moment alright!?" the auburn haired girl snapped, but then glanced behind her, knowing she probably hurt y/n, who was already silently leaving the room. "wait, don't leave. come here."

y/n slowly walked over to her girlfriend and sat beside her, pulling her into a hug. "i'm so sorry, i shouldn't have done that. i didn't mean to scare you."

"i-i'm sorry for lashing out on you, y/n," ellie said, her words muffled as her face was nuzzled into y/n's neck. "i just don't want to lose you. i love you."

"i love you too, ellie," y/n said caressing her back. "i'm not going anywhere, okay?"

she looked at her girlfriend with adoration and pressed her lips onto y/n's. the two teens pulled away before it turned into anything more than it was.

"you promise?" ellie asked, holding y/n's face.

the girl nodded and smiled. "i promise."
