ellie was tired. she was stressed and all she wanted to do was get home, cuddle with her girlfriend and sleep. ellie had been doing assignments nonstop that day, and though she liked being helpful to the community, getting a good night's rest was just as important.

the redhead would arrive at the house, kicking off her canvas sneakers and taking off her small jacket before dragging herself down the hall, eager to see her girlfriend and to finally be wrapped tightly in her arms.

she quietly opened the door to see y/n there, reading a book that joel had recommended. she looked so peaceful that ellie began feeling somewhat guilty for just wanting her lover's full attention. she never liked to admit it, but she became a big baby when she was tired. y/n thought it was the cutest thing, though to others, her clinginess seemed to be intolerable when they witnessed it. y/n didn't mind one bit. she adored that side of ellie.

y/n looked up from her book to see her very exhausted girlfriend giving her a weary smile. "hey, babe,"

"hi," y/n cheerfully said, setting the book aside to turn her attention to the green eyed girl. "fun day?"

ellie playfully scoffed at the girl's sarcasm before making her way over to the bed, not even bothering to change into her nightwear. she got under the covers with y/n and wrapped her arms around the girl's waist, resting her head on her chest.

no more words needed to be spoken between the two, as their actions had said enough. y/n held her girlfriend close, drawing light circles on ellie's arm with her fingers, beginning to trace them up and down. she knew the action had always helped ellie fall asleep or relax her at least.

moments passed and y/n would begin to hear the light snores coming from her girlfriend. she smiled to herself, happy that ellie was finally getting the relaxation she deserved. she ran her fingers through her messy, auburn hair before placing a kiss on the top of her head.
