December 20th, 8:30AMYves went to Jiwoo's palace by car, she violated many traffic laws but she didn't care the only thing she wanted to do was be there as soon as possible.
When she arrived police were there, the paramedics were already gone, Yves desperately asked for information.
The first thing she was told was that she had overdosed on sleeping pills she got a cut on her head and various marks of physical abuse on her body. The time of death was approximately 5 AM. When the paramedics came there was nothing they could do.
Yves was allowed to go inside the house, it was exactly how she remember it before she left, nothing had changed except for the arrangement of the sofas and the broken glass on the floor and the blood stains.
The Police was there because Yeojin called them saying that Heejin always punched and said horrible things to her mom... and believed she was the one that caused her mom's death, Yves spotted her, she was sitting in the garden's bench. She couldn't allow herself to get closer because they were strangers afterall.
She went upstairs and the room that had a police line on it was her old room. She went in anyways. Nobody was there at that moment. Everything was still intact it felt scary. She got chills on her whole body when she approached her desk. She opened the drawer on the side and found a paper, it was very well folded. She thought that the police should do a better job at investigating the crime scenes.
She read the last letter Jiwoo had written for her. And it tore her completely; she dropped down to her knees and stained the letter with her tears... She should've read the letters earlier maybe that way Jiwoo would still be there with her. Her stubborn heart clenched... she was the one to blame not Jiwoo.
Why did she never read the letters? She thought they weren't important she hadn't even read who sent it to her she just put them aside for so long... she even ignored Jiwoo because that way her heart wouldn't get excited about having a chance to be with her. She was so stupid.
When she had strength she stood up and put the letter in her pocket and went to the garden. Chaewon, Yerim were there standing around Yeojin. This time Yves got closer and both of the sisters turned around and hugged her saying they missed her a lot. Yeojin was kinda disoriented because she didn't know who she was. Sooyoung sat down beside her and introduced herself.
"My name is Ha Sooyoung, I was adopted by your grandma... Jiwoo's mom. Just like you... I lived here with everyone for a long time before deciding to go my own way, Jiwoo and I were very close and she wrote letters to me while I was away..." Her tears couldn't stop running down her cheeks but she kept on going. "Your mom and I loved each other deeply but we couldn't be together as you must've figured it out, she asked me to take care of you because Heejin is not going to come and lay a finger on you. I'm here to protect you" she smiled even though her eyes expressed deep sadness and regret.
Yeojin listened to her very attentively, and also smiled "my mom told me about you, she said you were her first and only love." She looked down to her feet "mmm... thank you for being here, I feel a lot more safe if you're here. From what mom told me you are very strong!"
Suddenly Sooyoung remembered when they were teenagers and Jiwoo would be studying inside and she would be outside practicing archery, Jiwoo was stuck with books and yves would be outside learning how to ride a horse or how to shoot a gun which made Jiwoo felt jealous but also fascinated by how strong Yves was...
Yeojin, this little girl was stronger than she thought.
A loud noise came from the inside of the palace and Yerim went to see what it was about "wait, Yeri don't go alone" Yves went behind her, leaving Chaewon with Yeojin.
Inside there was Heejin and the police officers having a very loud conversation. Both of the sisters approached and Yves couldn't contain her anger, she made her way in between the police and punched Heejin right in her face, she started bleeding from her nose.
Yves bent down and pulled her hair
"I hope you're happy, you killed her... you killed the most precious thing this fucked up world had... you killed an angel. I really hope you burn in hell."
"You wanna know why I'm actually happy? Because I get to have the crown all for myself alone, power and status is what really matters, you think love is needed? You're a fucking idiot" Heejin smirked.
Yves was about to punch her a second time when Yerim stopped her saying the police might arrest her if she did that one more time.
Sooyoung stood up and talked with the officer, saying the only guilty of killing the queen was Jeon Heejin; wife and previously the princess of a very tiny town that had nothing and that's why they arranged the marriage, all the jeons wanted all of this time was to kill the queen and take their riches and status.
The officer said that this had to be resolved in court, meanwhile the kid will be staying with Heejin her mother, Yves couldn't let that happen so when everyone left the place she took yeojin with her and went to jungeun's house. Many months passed by and the court found Heejin guilty domestical violence and was sent to prison for less than a year which was the charge for what she had done, it didn't bother yves because she had the custody of Yeojin forever and plus she will be exiled from the country as soon as she comes out of prison.
Things is the kingdom were dark and gloomy because of the tragic event but Jungeun and Jinsol were ascended to the position of queens the position Jiwoo and Heejin occupied before, this couple brought so much happiness to the kingdom that it seemed like there was always a rainbow in the sky. The couple was well received and they couldn't be happier.
Yves and Yeojin were living with the royal couple in a brand new palace. Yeojin was happy with her mom Yves as she started calling Sooyoung, she always wondered why that name was stuck with her, but now she understood.
She was Yves when she had a family, she was Yves when she received immense amounts of love.
She was Yves when Jiwoo fell in love with her.
she didn't hate the name anymore, it reminded her of how fortunate she was that Haseul adopted her and gave her this beautiful name that led to where she was now.
Because Yves is Ha Sooyoung not two different people, not two different stories and that's what Jiwoo saw in Sooyoung someone that was not born in a royal family but certainly had a golden heart.
Sooyoung would go to Jiwoo's grave and bring fresh flowers, she'd often stay there for hours talking to her because she knew she was listening, Yves hair grew longer and surely Jiwoo would like it.
"Hey Jiwoo, tell mom I've been taking good care of her granddaughter and I'm doing fine, I have a stable job and people that love me are around me all the time, I just kind of wish Jiwoo would be here with me so we can be happy together... I love you Ha Jiwoo, eternally."
