We both stopped in our tracks when we saw the lady who "briefed" us yesterday, standing in the middle of the trailor.

"Uh hello?" Leo called out.

She turned around and scanned us from head to toe. There was something about her that made me feel really uncomfortable. I think it's because she always looked at us as though we were criminals.

"Good evening to the both of you. I have an important announcement to make."

A few seconds later, a man dressed in all grey came from behind her, pushing a TV set into our trailor. The kind teachers used to roll into class to watch videos on. She thanked him and he left promptly.

"This is for you." She placed her hand on the top of the tv and gave it a few pats.
"It has all the news channels programmed into it. So you'll get the latest news about the war."

"So this is the important announcement?"

"No. I'm getting there." she narrowed her eyes at Leo.

"We've been getting signals of bombings at Region Relta."

All the color drained from my face.

"Bombings?" I gasped and grabbed onto Leo's arm. I felt like I was about to pass out. Just the thought of my family being stuck in the middle of all of that made me want to throw up.

She nodded. "And we aren't that far away from where the war is taking place. Although we can guarantee that we are at a safe zone, anything can happen."

"Get to the point." Leo snapped.

"There is a 70% chance that we might get affected. Since our island's the closest to RR. Ive already warned the others to take shelter-"

"The others? I thought we were the only ones here?"

The lady looked slightly confused.

"And may I ask who told you that you're the only people here on this island, Ms Arden?"

"I-I thought-"

"There are other trailors, but they're just further away from yours. The nearest one is an hour away from here."

"Anyway." she continued. "Our team will be doing the best we can to shield this island from bomb attacks. Please, as soon as the siren goes off, take shelter. We estimated the first bomb to go off at 2100 hours. Stay indoors at all times. Are there any questions?"

Leo shook his head, he seemed to be in some deep thought.

"Very good. I'll take my leave." And with that, she left and the door shut behind her.

"Great, It's only the second day and im already going to die." I breathed out and slumped down onto the dining area. He scowled at me.

"Don't talk stupid." He spat. "They can't hit us. It's physically impossible."

I stared at him, trying to register the bullshit he just blurted out.

"There is no forcefield around us, you do know that right?"

He rolled his eyes. "It'll take at least half an hour for a bomb from RR to hit us. Thats plenty time to stop it. We may be near to RR but not that near. The worst damage it could possibly do is chip off a tiny portion of the island near the sea."

I gaped at him. "How do you even kn-"

"I studied engineering for a bit." he shrugged.

I stared down at my fingers and my heart just wouldn't stop pounding like mad. What he said did make sense but, like what the lady said, anything could happen. I wasn't ready to die, I promised Abby Id come home. My breathing got sharper by the thought of never seeing my family again and soon, tears filled my eyes and my vision got blur.
