(LeAnne's POV)

I felt useless looking at my baby laying in this hospital bed. His bruises were long gone and the casts were soon to go. He still hadn't woke up though. What was taking so long? It's already been ten days.

I was sitting on the edge of the bed now praying for him to wake up. Praying for a miracle. I placed Derrick's hand on my growing stomach so that he could feel his sister's kicking. She loved when I did this. We haven't come up with a name for her yet but I do know that she's going to be big brother's sidekick. I was waiting for the doctor to come in and hopefully give me good news.

Matthew is out doing some Alpha things. He of course was constantly checking in since I was four months pregnant. Werewolves only carry pups for six months since weres develop faster and grow faster. We even heal fast so it's weird for Derrick to still be in a coma.

"Hello Mrs. Coffey. How are you today?" Dr. Wilson had walked in the door, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Big," I responded.

"Oh no, you look lovely. Won't be long till that pup arrives."

"No, no it won't." I agreed while thinking to myself that Derrick will hopefully be awake by then.

"His pupils are active, we're just waiting on him now." Dr. Wilson stated.

"Is there some way we can persuade him maybe?"

"Mate's touch. That has worked many times in situations like this one. Had Derrick found his mate before the accident?"

All I could was nod. Stephanie could very well be the key to getting my son back but how do I possibly convince her to come here. I had to talk to Matthew about this as soon as he got here tonight.

It wasn't long after five pm when Matthew got back and we ate supper. "Matthew?"

"Yes honey?" Matthew looked at me tenderly and I felt strings tugging in my heart.

"I was talking to the doctor today and he said we're just waiting on Derrick to decide to come back."

"That's good. He's a strong kid. Won't be long now."

"The doctor also said that a mate's touch could trigger him enough for him to come back."

Matthew sat for a moment just looking at me then said, "So Stephanie needs to touch him?"

I nodded, wondering what it would take to get her here.

"I will figure something out. I will baby," Matthew promised.

I knew Matthew would stick to his word, he always does. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with him.

(Matthew's POV)

I knocked on the door and was greeted by Linda Jennings. She invited me in and went to get Nathan.

"Alpha Matthew?"

"Hello Nathan."

"What do I owe this honor of having you in my home?"

"I need to speak to you, Linda, and Stephanie about a very important matter."

"Yes sir. Give me a moment." Nathan went and collected Linda then Stephanie.

"Thank you for meeting with me," I started.

"No problem." Nathan responded.

"Not many people know but my son was in a car accident eleven days ago and is currently in a coma."

"I'm so sorry Alpha Matthew," Linda said with sadness in her eyes. I could tell by Stephanie's eyes that no matter how much she hated to admit it but the news struck her deeply.

"We were told yesterday that it's up to him to come back to us. We also found out that certain things could trigger his need to return. With that said, Stephanie, since you two are mates, we know your touch will bring him back."

"No." Stephanie stated.

"Do what?"

"No it won't because he doesn't want me." Stephanie reasoned.

"Contrary to what you think, he does. You're the reason he hasn't been himself. All he wants is to be with you. He don't care that your first child isn't his, he wants to raise it as his own."

"How do you know this? Did he tell you?" Stephanie asked this because she didn't believe me.

"Did you pay attention to any of his actions after you left that night? His grades dropped, borderline failing, and he got kicked off the basketball team. He has moped around the house and wouldn't eat. Do you know how much weight he has lost?"

"No," Stephanie answered.

"He's a shell of the person he used to be. He needs you. If you won't do it for him, do it for my wife. This is stressing her too much during this pregnancy. I can't bare to think about about losing both my children."

She had tears rolling down her checks and I didn't know what else to say.

"Please? Please?" I found myself on my knees begging. I never beg anyone. I'm alpha for God's sake! But here I am begging a teenager to help save my little family.

Nathan's jaw had dropped from the sight of me begging. He couldn't process it. Linda was crying silently.

"Please help me? I'm begging and pleading. You don't have to give him a chance though I do wish you would try too. But please save my family, it's ripping me apart."

"OK." I looked at her surprised. "I'll do it. I really do want him but it's going to take time."

"Thank you! Thank you so much Stephanie!"
