Dream

-*MARCO'S POV*-

They say that 'The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand' and without hard work and passion to the goal you want to achieve, you will not meet the success you are hoping for. So far, I think I'm almost there but why the duration? why it took me three and a half years before the day I've been waiting for has finally came.

The day I will be debuting as a K-pop Idol.

It felt like yesterday when I first step to South Korea. It was an unknown territory for me for the culture where I've lived through my entire existence is very different compare to them. Because of that, I made a major adjustment through my first year staying at Korea. At first, it was very hard and difficult for me to adapt to the changes and I would mostly get homesick. But, as time went on... I was able to get used to it even though there's times that I miss the life I had at my hometown, San Francisco. If it wasn't for my dream to be an idol, I would probably still be delivering newspapers every morning in our neighborhood while riding a girly bike that my Mom bought me from my Aunt (Father's side) and attending grandma's bingo party in the weekends (which they force me go just to accompany grandma). Sigh. Memories...

My train of thoughts were interrupted when something hit my nape, catching me off guard. I turn around and saw a clean, white towel already laying on the green grass. Where did that come from?

"I knew that you'll be here. I've been looking all over for you, you know!" My gaze shift from the towel to the person with a familiar voice. "wae geuleon jis-eul hangeoya? (Why did you do that?) I'm having my moment right now and here you are interrupting me out of nowhere." I complain and narrow my eyes at her. She roll her eyes at me, "You should have thank me for bringing you that damn towel all the way here. Goodness! Do you have any idea how long it takes me to travel from Bighit Entertainment all the way to Han River? What are you even doing here anyway?" She asked then sit beside me with a smug look plastered on her face. I notice the plastic bag she is holding fill with banana milks, Melona ice cream, sushi, kimchi and even ramen! I secretly move my right hand to grab the banana milk but I think her Butterfly senses must felt my sneak attack 'cause before I could lay my hands on the plastic bag, Star slap my hand away and clutch the bag like she's holding for her dear life or something.

"Who said you can steal my food? I payed these with my own money, Marco so I'm not sharing!" She said waving her index finger in front of my face. "W-Well, I was gonna share but since you made me spend my money on the transportation, I change my mind" She added. I laugh at Star's silliness.

"You did spend more with the amount of foods you bought at the convenient store so how's that my fault?" I whispered to myself. Star darted her eyes at me, "What was that, Diaz?"

"Nothing, nothing." I said and smile at her innocently.

Star came from San Francisco as well but both of us aren't in the same neighborhood. She came to South Korea to be a stylist 2 years ago and applied to the same agency as I am, the now famous company in the whole nation of South Korea, Bighit Entertainment. Bighit used to be a small company with underrated artist working under them but that all changes when Mr. Bang Si-hyuk (but we call him Bang PD-nim though) debuted BTS back in 2013 who also started from nobodies to world-class influencer, global superstars boyband that is loved by fans in every countries in the world. BTS carried the company to the success they had now. Despite with all the money and fame in their hands... they still remain humble and that's what I like about them. They're the reason why I decided to pursue on being an idol, knowing the fact that I have to work everything I can to make my dreams come true. Just like what BTS did.
