*if you're just starting out reading, hi!!! And I'm warning you now, the first couple of chapters are rough, I wrote them a long time ago and they get all I need to say in, just not in the wow way. Okay that's it, Enjoy!!

Lydia Martin tapped her fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of whatever song was playing on the radio now, too buried in her thoughts to realize she had just ran a red light. She cursed to herself, pulling over to the side of the road. She sat there for what felt like forever with her elbows resting on the steering wheel and her head in her hands. It had been almost five years since she left Beacon Hills, and this would be the first time she'd be returning, with the exception of one or two trips home during holiday break. She'd talked to her best friend Allison almost everyday, but she hadn't seen anyone else since before she went off to college.

Lydia expected herself to go into cardio-thoracic surgery, but she realized that she had experienced enough death in her life to want to ever be responsible for one in the operating room. So she decided to major in secondary schooling, and when she graduated from Columbia at the top of her class everyone questioned why she was doing something as "unexceptional" as teaching high school. She didn't care of course, she was Lydia Martin, she could make anything extraordinary.

And even though she missed her friends she found herself wanting to turn around and drive back to the city. At least there she didn't feel like everyone knew her deepest darkest secrets. But there was a job opening and Lydia knew all too well that when those came along, you'd snatch them up. Even if you had a resume like Lydia's, it was so hard to find a job.

When Lydia finally made it to the penthouse apartment she had recently put a down payment on she called Allison.

"Hey Ali I'm here." She spoke into the phone trying to find her water bottle that fell on the ground. There was a semi squeal from the other side of the conversation and Lydia laughed. "So maybe put yourself to use and get you're little were-fiancee over here so I don't have to carry all this up myself."

"We are already on our way, and I may just be speaking for myself but we can not wait to see you Lydia." Allison said barely able to contain herself.
"We miss you!" Scott McCall screamed loud enough so that I could hear him in the background.
"I've missed you both." Lydia said hanging up the phone and opening the water.

She took a sip, pulling out a compact mirror and looking at herself. She was definitely not the Lydia Martin from high school. She had light makeup and some Chapstick on, She was forced to wake up early this morning to get back on the road (driving for 5 days sucks) and she didn't feel like trying, so she threw on some jeans (something she never owned in high school) and a Columbia sweatshirt. She still had on black heals, she felt weird wearing flats, and on top of her head sat a perfect bun of strawberry blond hair.

She was thinking about who else might still live in Beacon Hills, and thought of him, not that she ever stopped thinking of him. She hated that, considering it's been somewhere around 5 years since she's spoken to him. She knew she probably wasn't in love with Him, but in love with the boy he was when she needed him, she was in love with an idea.

An idea of Stiles Stilinski, the boy who surprised her time and time again with the way he saw things, and the way he saw her. He looked at her like she wasn't as cold and soulless as the rest of the world saw her. He saw how smart she was, how capable she could be, and how truly human she is. He was the first boy to see her as more than a girl with the perfect body and an intoxicating attitude. He saw the real Lydia. He was the boy she never saw coming.
He was also the first boy she ever really loved.

Lydia heard a car door open and looked over to see Allison walking towards her. She looked beautiful, her dark brown hair falling in perfect ringlets. She was wearing a loose white dress and a army looking jacket with black knee high socks and little black boots. Scott was wearing the usual black t-shirt and jeans, he looked exactly the same as the last time Lydia saw him.
She stood up out of the car and ran the five feet to hug Allison.
