It is now Thursday, my short suspension from school has now officially ended. My Father honestly near killed me when I told him I had successfully achieved my first suspension. Boarding school thankfully has not been mentioned since Tuesday.
"Sam get ready for school we are leaving early today!"
Why are we leaving early? It's five o'clock in the morning. A whole three hours early! I hate going to school, never mind going early. What is going on with my life?
As I swiftly got ready for school, slipping on my favourite pair of ripped jeans and my Guns and Roses t-shirt. I couldn't help but think about reasons why we were leaving early for school. Was something happening at school that I didn't know about? Did Mum get a new job? Am I even going to school?
"Sam! Hurry up!"
"I'm coming!"
I rushed down past my sisters now empty bedroom, through the mess on the stairs and landed in a heap at the bottom of them.
"Great start to the day Sam. Good job", I murmured to myself as my slightly concerned looking mother walked past me.
"Sam hurry up, I'm leaving in five minutes."
"Why are we leaving early?"
"Just do as you're told Samantha."
God this woman drives me mad. Why are we leaving for school three flipping hours early? What is going on? She seems overly stressed. The only time she is overly stressed is when she is due to drive down the motorway.
I ran straight to the bathroom to do my teeth and brush my hair. I was feeling rather anxious, so I styled my hair the way Rachel used to do it, straight up in a messy bun, except she used to do it really cute. I also put on my favourite red scrunchie. It was Rachel's of course. Mum says it would be the only thing I wouldn't manage to break.
"Sam, I'm leaving now!"
I grabbed my bag on the way out, carefully making sure I didn't toss the elegant, white statue of mum's favourite breed of dog. A German Shepard. She says that there loyal, obedient and protective. Then anytime I mention getting a dog she goes, "No Sam, they are far too much work. We don't have the money or the time to take care of it properly."
I got out to the car, and I ran straight back into the house, said goodbye to my father and straight back out to the car. Then out came through the door, my father.
"Why is dad coming?"
"I am coming, because I would like to go for a drive. Is that alright Sam?"
"School is only ten minutes away."
"Me and your mother are going to the store after."
At half five in the morning? Right what is going on? This is so weird. Why is everyone acting so funny? I put my new air pods in and turned my music to full blast, I just couldnt stand the awkward silence. I rested my head against the window and watched the green trees speed by. Seven minutes later we missed the turnoff.
"Mum you missed the turnoff."
"I know Sam, we aren't going to school today."
In my head this is how any serial killer movie starts, only I knew who was driving and I was not in a white van.
"Then where are we going?"
"Just go to sleep Sam, we are a good hour and a half away from or first stop."
"First stop. Are you joking me? How many stops are there?!"
"Sam don't talk to your mother like that!"
