Chapter 10: Sour Wuss

Benjamin's POV

He kept taking slow steps forward and the wolves around us seemed to get pumped up by his presence.

They growled even more and bared their teeth. "What do you want Eskay?", John asks, narrowing his eyes at the wolf beside Eskay.

I caught Naj let out a sigh of relief but her face also held disappointment. I looked back at Eskay.

"I'm just here to throw a little house warming party", he said and grinned looking at Naj. "You must be Naj", he said and she took a step back.

"H-how do you k-k-know my name", Naj said and he laughed. "I've been at your place a few times so I'm familiar with you.

I knew he was delivering the letters and her heart. He killed her I'll murder... "Dave, where's he?", I asked.

"At a business meeting", he said and took a step back. "Eskay I'm gonna tell you this once. Take your boys and run", I said glancing back at Cupid, Cal and Lila who now had bows and quivers full of black arrows.

"Go to that corridor and hide", I said to Naj and the others. They scramble away and it was just me, Wilson, John, Lisa, Cupid, Cal and Lila.

"This should be fun", he said. "Boys make sure you have a feast", he said loudly and turned to leave.

Not this time Eskay. "Now guys", I said and let my wolf take over me and I shift along with Wilson, John and Lisa.

I jumped on two wolves and slammed their heads together with my hind legs. Them I bite into the neck of another hearing a satisfying crack as his neck broke.

The Alpha genes sure came in handy. Me and Wilson are bigger and stronger than them.

As the fight goes on, more and more wolves come in. There's too many for us to take down.

The suddenly black arrows fly out of nowhere hitting the wolves. I turn to see Crystal, Charlie and Mino along with a group of cupids make their way to us.

That's when I heard it. The scream. That was Naj's scream.

"Will she be okay?", Asmaa asked for the fifth time in a few minutes. "Yeah it's just a bite", I said.

A wolf had bitten her. I had to run her here and leave her on the front of the hospital.

The fact that she's in a coma right now doesn't worry me.

It's the reason she's in a coma that worries me. A wolf's genes can be mixed with that if human.

That's what happens when you're bitten from one of those wolves.

Wilson stares at me, most likely thinking the same thing as me.

This was all part of Dave's plan. I can feet it. Phase one get her to accept and use her auric power.

The only way to go such is by having an inner wolf. "Guys", John says pointing at Naj. She stirred a bit then her eyes snapped open.

Her eye colour's changed. Like really changed. "Since when did you have green eyes?", Asmaa M said and squinted.

"Really she just woke up from a coma and that's the first question you ask?", Saif says with an eye roll and Asmaa M shoves him playfully.

"How're you feeling?", Lisa asked. She narrowed her eyes at us. "I feel... stronger somehow and the wound doesn't hurt anymore", she said and Asmaa gasped.

"Wait is she a werewolf now?", she asked and Lisa sighed. "It's like in the movies. When a werewolf bites you, you become a uh... what's the name?",Asmaa asked and I answered.

"A Lykan. She's a Lykan now", I said and looked down at her. She was sitting now.

The door opened and the doctor came in. "Okay so it was just a bite, nothing serious. You can go home today, oh and here's some painkillers if it ever hurts too much", he hands Asmaa the painkillers.

"Thanks doc", she said and he nodded and went out.

"Let's get outta here, the hospital smell makes me wanna puke", Saif said and gagged.

"I can relate", Asmaa M said and shuddered.

Naj got of the bed and grabbed her cardigan. "Let's go", she muttered and we left.

"Wow so you're a werewolf now", Cupid asked for like the hundredth time and Naj groaned," You've asked me that like a hundred times already".

Cupid chuckled and said,"It's just hard to believe but you're part of the supernatural world now. How's it feel?".

She sighed and looked at me,"It's been fairly good". I grinned and added,"Don't worry I haven't thought you how to do cool stuff yet".

Then I mindlinked her,"Like this". "Woah did you just... Did you just talk to me in my head?", she said wide eyes and I just shrugged sipping my cocktail.

Just then Cal came in. He run his hands through his hair a few times. "Um brother what's wrong?", Cupid asked with a brow raised.

"He escaped. We were so caught up in the fight that we forgot about Eskay. He could've led us to Dave", he said.

Yeah he's right there. "Relax your balls dude, let's just relax tonight okay", Asmaa said and he turned sharply to her.

"Relax? We almost got fucking killed. The one thing that might get us to the one that wants us dead just vanished, don't be stupid. This is no time to relax", Cal stated sharply.

"Life's all black and white for you sour wuss. I don't care what you do. Some people just don't know how to have fun", Asmaa stated with a frown.

"What did you call me?", he said and I held in my laugh. "Nothing", she said and rolled her eyes.

He turned without another word and left. "Sour wuss", Asmaa muttered with a grin and me and Wilson burst out laughing along with Cupid.

To be honest things aren't going well. Nothing's going according to plan. But if that's what is gonna cause me to be with these people, right here, right now...

I wouldn't have it any other way.
