Chapter 19: A Turn Of Events

Naj's POV

Blood.

Pain.

Destruction.

Death.

Tears.

This all seems familiar.

I watch my friends body lie on the floor, dead.

"It's happening", I look on and see that the rest have been defeated. Only Benjamin stood fighting with Dave.

"It's just like the dream", I mutter unable to move. It was painful to watch all the ones you love die and not do a thing about it. Not a bloody thing can be done.

I felt more tears rush out of my eyes. I remembered my favorite moment with everyone I loved.

Dad...
"Hey slow down angel you know it's your first time", he laughed. I wobble on my bike. It was my first time riding. I fell.

I kept crying but as soon as I felt him carry me into his arms, I felt safe. "Hush now my little angel, daddy's got you".

I smile. Tears are flowing but I smile. I miss him.

And then that day at school with the Asmaa's and Saif...

"You better watch where you're going you need", they said and knocked my books out of my hands. "Pathetic looking bitch", she said and the whole hallway burst into laughter.

I run to the bathroom and the sobs just came out. I don't know how long I was in there until she pulled me out saying,"You know you're extraordinary and you shouldn't let that scum ruin your mood". Asmaa...

I looked down at her body. Her light radiant skin was now pale. Her eyes were closed and she looked at peace.

"Rest in....",

Peace.
Mom's name. Mom...

"Ugh I lost like 6 times and I knew exactly what was gonna happen", I muttered frustrated over a video game when she chuckled and sat beside me.

"You know Naj, sometimes you just can't change what's gonna happen. But that shouldn't stop you from trying. After all nothing is impossible if you believe....".

Believe..

Believe...

It kept ringing in my eyes.

Then in slow motion I saw it. That moment that the one I loved the most got killed. I saw the lightening above him.

I jumped. My mind was blank. All I was doing was believing that I could save him.

He turned to me in shock and I pushed him out of the way just in time.

I saw white light. I felt so warm. So at peace. So free. I wanted more of this feeling. I felt like I was floating.

Is this the peace that the dead enjoy? Is this how they rest eternally? I loved it.

Benjamin's POV

The last thing I remember was the rage taking over my body. It felt like my skin was on fire.

It was. I didn't care. I took off at the one person I wanted to kill. I aimed all of my rage on him.

Along with John, Lila and Lisa, we attacked.

I couldn't save any of them. I thought I was powerful but I was weak. So weak I couldn't protect my friends.

And it made me mad. I flew up towards Dave and met him with a surprise upper cut.

"Excellent you've grown stronger, now I can truly prove I am better than you", he said and lightening coursed over his body.

"I'll kill you", I whispered and rushed towards him with all my might.

Punch after punch. Launching fire balls. Dodging lightening strikes. I was determined to kill him. I couldn't think. It didn't feel like I was in control of my body.

I didn't care. I wanted to see him die right here and now.

After an huge explosion caused by the collision of both his lightening and my fire we stood a few metres apart.

"I say this is quite enjoyable", Dave said and licked his lips. "War, blood, death", he looked at my dead friends and grinned. "Rage", he looked at me.

"I'll put a stop to you here and now", I said. He laughed and shook his head.

"Distractions were always your weakness", he said and that's when I heard the cackling of thunder above me.

"Goodbye brother", he said and the lightening flew towards me. But she...

She pushed me put of the way. The lightening struck her.

I saw her fall to the ground. I rushed to her and put my head on her chest. Nothing.

I couldn't hear a thing. I couldn't feel a thing. It was like time stopped. I couldn't make a sound. I just let the tears flow freely.

"Ah saved by your beloved huh, that's good luck right there, but unfortunately", his fist glowed with lightening,"Your luck's run out".

My eyes closed for a moment.

There is fire in you. Power beyond anyone level. You truly are the strongest of all the Alphas. Prove it. Right here and now.

My eyes snapped open I felt the fire explode from within. It consumed me. I felt even stronger. I let out a pained scream and brought my eyes on Dave.

I fisted my hands and a fireball appeared in it. "You tried that already", he said and cut him off.

"Dave this is the last time we meet. I'm ending you. Right now. You wanted to be the ruler of the earth", I punched him so fast he didn't see it coming.

"You wanted power", I hit him again. "How is this..", I hit him again before he could finish.

"You want a taste of true power?", I said and allowed the fireball to grow bigger.

"Have it your way then", I said and punched him in his stomach. I blasted fireball after fire ball at him. Hearing his agonized screams made me even more angry.

"I want you to suffer. Suffer just like you made me suffer", I said and hurled a huge ball of fire at him. I felt someone pull me back. I turned.

Minotaur. "It's over. You've finished him", he nodded. I looked at Dave's body. It was burnt to a crisp.

I let the fire slowly leave my body. I felt lightheaded and I think I'm passing out.

Last thing I heard was,"We were too late", before everything went dark.
