Just to clear some things up about the last chapter, I wanted to hint that Luka is sort of a pervert in this book. Also, huge thanks to @RebeccaSanchez023, one of my best friends, for helping me with this book. She wrote the last paragraph in the last chapter, helped me create the story line, and edited all the chapters in this book. I hope you enjoy this chapter...

Marinette's POV

His eyes held so much emotion as he gazed into mine. It seemed as if there was a fog in my head preventing me from thinking properly.  He started to lean in, but I did not budge. I began panicking internally. I know... Adrien and I are not necessarily in the best terms right now, but kissing another boy would be wrong! I'm not the kind of person that ends a relationship in this way. Just one kiss from the wrong person can ruin everything. The gap between us shrunk as I could feel his warm breath on my face. My heart rate increased rapidly. He was only a centimeter away from closing the gap between us....  RING. A sudden ringing filled the room and snapped me out of my daze. I immediately leaped away from Luka, grateful for the space between us. With shaking hands, I reached for my phone and answered the call.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Marinette! Where the hell have you been? You've been gone for hours! Your parents are worried sick! Everyone has been looking for you!" Alya scolded.

"Sorry, Alya. I must have lost track of time. I'm at Luka's," I explained.

"Well, you better get your ass over here 'cause we need to talk. I've been fucking worried, Marinette!" she roared.

"I know. Where are you exactly, anyways?" I continued.

"I'm at your parent's bakery. You better be here in less than ten damn minutes or I'm going to go over there and drag your ass!" she threatened.

"I'll be right over," I groaned, not wanting to question her any further. After I hung up, I turned to Luka.

"Sorry, Luka,  I need to leave now, " I repeated while I gathered my belongings. His soft smile faded into a slight frown.

"I can drive you home if you want," he offered.

"No thank you. I kind of want to be alone for a bit," I confessed, wiping away loose hair strands stuck on to face.

"Ok, just remember that I'll always be here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on," he reassured, helping me up from his bed.

"Thank you, Luka," I muttered as I left. The rain still poured down heavily. I was drenched as soon as I became exposed to the rain. "Ugh, I forgot how cold it was," I whispered to myself. I wrapped my arms around myself and began my way back home. As I walked down the sidewalk, I spotted a man running down the road holding hands with a woman while they held a black jacket to cover themselves from the rain. They were most likely running home. I could hear them laughing as they ran down the street. Their happiness brought a smile to my face, but then I remembered Adrien. My smile faded and replaced with a frown as a tear slipped out of my eye. I miss that cheesy smile and those emerald eyes. I just want him to embrace me in his arms again. The arms that were so warm and held comfort that made me feel safe. There was no denying it; I am deeply in love with him.

"Marinette?" a soft voice whispered. I turned my gaze down to my purse and was met with concerned eyes.

"Yes, Tikki," I muttered. I gave her a shy smile to hide my heartache.

"Everything is going to be okay!  I'm sure he didn't mean anything he said. It was just out of anger," she reassured.

"I hope you're right ,Tikki," I replied. The bakery was now in sight. I started to feel butterflies in my stomach. Why am I so nervous all of a sudden? I took a deep breath before pulling the door open and entering the bakery. I was greeted with warmth and the smell of baked goods.

"Marinette! Thank god you're back. We were so worried!" Mom exclaimed.

"Marinette! Where were you, honey?" Dad asked. They both ran up to me and nagged me with a plethora of questions about my whereabouts.

"Relax! I was just at Luka's house," I reassured.

"Please tell us where you're going before you take off for hours," Dad lectured.

"I promise Dad. I'm sorry," I responded.

"It's okay, honey. Just don't do it again," Mom babbled.

"I promise," I disclosed.

"Oh no, you're all wet! Go upstairs and change into some dry clothes before you catch a cold," Dad commanded. I looked down and noticed a big puddle of water drip beneath my feet. I nodded before making my way to my room. I noticed a pink sticky note on my desk. I walked over and it read:

Dear Marinette,

I'm sorry I couldn't be here when you came back. I have to babysit the twins tonight. Nino and I talked to Adrien after you left. He really is sorry. He didn't  mean anything he said. I haven't fully forgiven that dickhead for what he did to you, but he feels awful. I chewed him out and he better apologize soon 'cause I know he makes you genuinely happy. I hope you guys will sort things out soon. Call me if you need anything!

Sincerely, Alya

"She is such a great friend," I whispered to myself as I undressed. I am so grateful to have her in my life. I walked over to my bathroom and took a well deserved shower. The warm water relaxed my tense muscles and my racing thoughts. After a while, I turned off the shower, dried off, and wrapped a nice towel around me. I searched through my wardrobe for some comfortable clothes. I ended up wearing grey sweatpants and one of Adrien's black hoodies. After carrying out my usual night routine, I got comfortable in my bed with my laptop and continued a series on Netflix.

"What are we watching tonight, Marinette?" Tikki questioned curiously as she nuzzled against my neck.

"On my Block," I answered. After two episodes, I closed my laptop, set it aside, and snuggled into the sheets with Tikki settled next to my head on the pillow. My heart still felt heavy but I tried to relax and get some rest. I hope tomorrow will be a better day. I closed my eyes and dozed off to the sound of raindrops. As I was about to drift off to a peaceful sleep, I saw slight movement in the corner of my eye. I jumped awake to a black figure with dazzling eyes staring directly at me through the window...
