Chapter 15:

Evander's POV:

Lorcan stares at me expectantly, waiting for me to say something. I look down at my legs. Lorcan's going to be a father? I... I don't know what to say. I swallow down the knot in my throat and look up. I don't want to meet his eyes. He'll see the pain I am feeling. I love him, I don't want him to have a kid with someone who is not me. I close my eyes.

"Congrats, you're going to be a father." I mumble quietly, wishing he'd leave me alone at the moment. Or maybe I could just leave. I can stand now, I've had blood.

"You're not mad?" He asks. I smile at him, but I am not really feeling it.

"No, of course not. It was probably before we were even together." He looks down.

"It was when I got upset with you, before we were official." He tells me. I grit my teeth and slide off of the bed. Lorcan stands up. "I'm sorry Evander. I love you now, she means nothing to me."

"Lorcan, you're going to be a father. When the baby is born I am sure she is going to want you to be there for it." He stops and nods.

"You're right." He mumbles, sitting back down.

"I just... I can't do this right now." I tell him, voice cracking. He nods.

I hurry out of the room, feeling like I want to just burst out into tears. I should just try to find my mom, I'm sure she is out looking for me, or has one of her peasants out looking for me. I sigh and exit the building, hating everything. I make my way down town. I smell the air, trying to find my mother. Surely she wouldn't leave without me. I sigh again and lay down on a bench. I'm tired.

I wake up feeling really tired. I stand up, getting off the bench. Its daytime now, the sun is shining brightly. I squint. The sun is so bright. Ugh, I hate mornings.

"Evander! Evander!" I turn around at the sound of Nightle's voice. I watch as he comes running at me, looking frantic and worried.

"What is it?" I ask him."It is Dayja, hes picking a fight with Lorcan. Lorcan is getting really mad. It isn't good." My eyes widen and I hurry after Nightle as he starts running. This can't be good. I had a bad feeling the moment a woke up from that bench. I pick up the speed, hoping Lorcan won't lose control. Its never good when a marked one loses control.

We stop at a field, Lorcan is standing in the middle of it with Arran and Minerva, Minervis and the others are with him too. I don't see Sorien anywhere. I look at Nightle.

"What do we do?" I ask him. He looks scared.

"I don't know..." He looks down, chewing on his lip.

"Psst." I look behind me and see Sorien hiding behind a tree. I look back at the field and turn around quickly. I walk over to Sorien stealthily, like what Nightle calls a ninja.

"What?" I whisper. Sorien holds out a knife with markings on it.

"If he loses control, stab him. It won't kill him, it'll just knock him out. It'll knock him out for a while." I nod. Marked ones can only be killed by the twin marked blade, or rather the blade they were marked with.

"This isn't the blade he was marked with right?" I ask.

"Of course not, the blade he was marked with is in the hands of a woman named Ursula." Sorien assures me, closing my fingers over the blade. I nod, feeling determination. I slide the blade into my pocket carefully before turning away from Sorien. I dart towards Lorcan, who looks like he is shaking with anger.

"Lorcan!" I exclaim as he raises his hand, lookng ready to strike. He looks at me, his eyes glowing dangerously.

"Go away Evander." He growls, voice threatening. I shake my head.

"No, you need to control your anger." I growl back. He shoves me away.

"Get lost." He then turns to Dayja, who looks like he is about pee himself. Fear shoots through my body as the ground below us starts shaking.

"I am going to rip your throat out you son of a bish." He thrusts his hand out, sending Dayja flying back. I grab his arm.

"Stop it! He can't do anything to you." I exclaim.

"He threatened to kill her and my son. To kill you." He growls. The ground shakes even more and begins to open up. I reach into my pocket, gripping the blade. Just last night we were sitting down and talking. Now he is angry and about to cause a dangerous earthquake. I whip out the knife and plunge it into the chest. The ground stops shaking and Lorcan falls backwards. Nightle and Arran stare at me in shock. So does Dayja and his minions. I stand above Lorcan, holding the knife tightly. I look at the tree where Sorien had been standing. He is nowhere to be found.

"Why would you do that? You dumbass! You killed him! You-!" Arran grabbed Nightle, holding him back. "He loved you! Bastard!" I dropped the knife, staring down at him. Sorien fooled me? He said it'd knock him out, get him under control. I fall to my knees and shake his shoulders.

"Lorcan, Lorcan wake up. Its over. Wake up." I slap his face, but he doesn't wake up. How long will he be knocked out? Oh please, Lorcan. Please wake up. For me, wake up. For your baby. You have to wake up.

I close my eyes and feel tears slip down my cheeks. They're not warm, they're cold. I just want to die. Lorcan...

After calming down, Nightle and Arran helped me carry Lorcan to the place we were staying at.

"Sorien said it'd knock him out. That it would just get him under control. He said he'd be knocked out for a while. It isn't the blade that marked him." I tell them. Nightle looks at me with hatred in his eyes. Arran can't even look at me. I look down, throat clogging up.

"You believed Sorien? He is a little lying... He isn't trustworthy. Not at all.

"I'm sorry." I whisper, turning away from them.

"Just leave, go back to vampire kingdom. Don't ever come back." I look at Lorcan one last time before rushing out of the building.

I should just die. Who would listen to someone like that? I am so stupid...

I open my eyes slowly, my vision blurred as I slowly sit up. I glance around curiously. I remember it all so clearly, its almost as if I relived it. I can't believe I was so stupid. I left before finding out if Lorcan ever woke up. Nightle and Arran never mentioned him waking up. He must be dead, right? I mean the blade had marks on it, it could've been the one. It could have... Ursula. I know what I need to do. I need to find Ursula. She was the one Sorien mentioned. Maybe she has some answers.

"Evander, oh thank the skies." Luridus pulls me into his arms. He is so warm.

"I'm okay, seriously. I just had a flashback." I tell him. He looks at me worriedly.

"It looked pretty bad. You were convulsing, I thought you were having some kind of seizure." I roll my eyes.

"Thats a human thing." I smile at him. Lorcan might possibly be alive. I know I'll get answers when I find Ursula. I feel like I've heard about her from more than just Sorien.

"Luridus, have you ever heard of a woman named Ursula?" I ask, looking into his eyes.

"Oh yeah, she is a famous witch. She is known as the creator of the marked blades." Luridus replies, brushing my hair back from my face. I grab his hand and look at him seriously.

"I need to find her, she may have answers for me. Answers that could change everything."

A/N:

I know its short but its getting exciting! Ursula may hold answers for whether or not Lorcan is actually dead! Plus, don't forget the same thing happened with Blain! Sorry for any spelling mistakes and grammatical errors!
