{2} Moving Day

"Call me as soon as you get there okay?" Claire says hugging me with tears filling her eyes. "I will" I choke out with tears rolling down my cheeks and we pull away. "Everything's going to be great over there! No stress alright?" He says as we hug. "This'll be good for you. You know change is good! You can meet new friends try new things.... You'll call us all the time? And not just call FaceTime?" He says as we pull away. His eyes now glassy. "Promise" I nod to him. We all three do our handshake and pull each other in for a group hug. "We're all going to miss you!" Claire says as we pull away. "I know I say tears falling down my checks quicker and heavier. "It's time for us to leave now hunny." Grandmum Ruby says grabbing my attention with a sincere look on her face as she watches us three along side Grandad Rick. I look at her then back to my friends. "Well that's my cue" I say a small chuckling noise escaping my lips. We hug for one last long second and I look at them when we pull away then turn around and walk with me grandmum towards the tunnel leading towards a new life. I stop at the entrance to the tunnel just looking down as my grandparents walk on through. I look back at my friends one last time. They give me a sincere look. "Go" Claire mouths giving me a smile with tears falling from her eyes. I smile at them both and walk towards my new beginning.

We find our seats on the plane and I sit next to the window by my Grandmum. I put my headphones in and watch "F.R.I.E.N.D.S".

I don't know how long after I fall asleep it is when I wake up. The numb feeling faded with my kip. Still present but faded. "We're in America" my grandma says realizing I'm awake and pointing to the window. With those words my mind goes blank. The numbness trying to flood over my body again but I turn and look out the window and I see a bunch of open land, some little cities here and there, some random buildings. It's beautiful. The numbness stops flooding my body in the beauty of it all. There's a voice over the intercom saying something about landing and a light flashing to put out seatbelts on. I watch out the window as we near an airport and land. And soon enough I'm walking off the plane and into the unknown. With my beats wrapped around my neck and phone in hand I FaceTime Claire. "Hello, I'm here" I say smiling. "YEAH!" Her and Jeremy yell. "So what now?" Jeremy asks. "Well I'm going to go get my suitcases and then we're gonna find out where grandad parked the truck since he does not remember and then we're going home" I finish as we arrive at the luggage pick up. "What time is it there" Claire asks. "I look around for a clock. "Eehmm three thirty four" "Wicked! It's nine thirty four here!" "Wicked!" I say as grandmum hands me a suitcase and grandad rolling the other. "Thankyou" I say grabbing it and following grandad out the door. I stop at the doors that slide open. The doors that lead out of the airport and into the Tennessee air and I stare out. "You ready?" Grandmum asks looking back at me. "Yeah" I say smiling and with that one word the numbness leaves. I don't know how but right in that moment I don't feel a thing but happiness. Something I haven't felt truly in days. We finally found the car and we all pile in. I talk with Jeremy and Claire on FaceTime for the 30 minutes drive home. We get home and it's not a very big house but it's got a big barn and I couple other tiny structures. It's super pretty. It's a yellow house, red barn, white picket fence and lots of land. "Blimey!" We all three say. I get out of the car and grandad take both my suitcases for me and we walk up the steps into the home. I look around and it's beautiful. "Your rooms up here" grandad says walking up some steps. "Okay I'm off to Bedfordshire" Jeremy says "yeah I'm knackered it's getting late. Promise you'll show us everything tomorrow?" Claire says before hanging up. "Yep" I say and we hang up. I walk up the stairs following grandad. We walk down a hall and into a purple room. "You know this was your moms room" he says smiling and looking around. "Really?!" I say excitedly. He nods his head, "I'll let you get settled in" he says shutting the door and leaving me alone in the room. I walk around looking at everything. I sit on my bed with my suitcases at my feet. I see a dresser with a mirror and I go over and look through it. Realizing who's mirror this was and who looked through this mirror years ago brings tears to my eyes. I crumble to the ground crying once again. The numbness taking over my body once again. My grandmum walks in and sees me on the floor. She helps me to my bed and I just sit there and cry. She lays with me running her fingers through my hair. Soon enough I fall asleep. No traces of dreams. Just dark numbness filling my Brain. I wake up the next morning still numb. My grandmum is no longer beside me but the blanket is over me. I just lay there looking at the wall. My eyes barely open. My grandmum comes in the morning saying something but it just muffled through my ears. She kisses my cheek and walks out the door. All day I lay there staring at the same spot on the wall. Night comes upon me again and I haven't eaten all day. I've fallen asleep and woken up off and on all day and the same thing happens through the night. I never leave my bed. Never even think to move. Never could if I wanted too.

Hey guys so now Melody is officially in her new home in Tennessee. Not a lot of description through this chapter but next one there is going to be a lot of info on her new home with her grandparents and her new lifestyle. The grief begins to get lighter next chapter for Melody kind of like we saw there for a moment in this chapter. Please give me some advice I'm kind of driving blind with the British accented speaking with Melody, Claire, and Jeremiah so if I did something wrong with the especially please let me know. Other than that I love advice so if you've got any advice on any other part so far let me know!! Thanks y'all!
