Dear Diary

March 22nd 2020

Today I'm going on a new adventure! It's quite scary but mostly exciting. I'm looking forward to meeting Miss Peregrine today. I'm hoping there's other people my age there too. Right now I'm on a small ferry heading towards the island Cairnholm. From here it looks pretty foggy and damp but I'm ready for whatever the world throws at me.

I'm not the only one on this small ferry. There's myself, a middle aged man and a boy who looks around 16 years old. I would love to go up to him and say hello but I'm too afraid if he'll think strangely of me. But maybe i'll see him at the hotel.

Looks like I'm going to have to write to you another day, I can see the island coming into view

As we neared closer to the island I got my small green shabby suitcase in hand ready to disembark. I glanced over at the boy and his father wondering what they were doing and to my amazement they weren't looking at the island they had their heads gazing into the sky above looking at a bird. I raised my head up just enough so I could see what type of bird that they were looking at. It looked like a falcon, a Peregrine Falcon. I remember Mrs Graves showing the children and I pictures about them and how some of them are Ymbre's. I was wondering if maybe that bird could be a Ymbre but with the bird season here. Who really knows.

The Roper Inn, strange name but what a strange town. It's completely desolate! Where is everyone? I walked in and went to the bar which looked like it could also be the reception. And there was the duo I saw earlier standing by the bar, and it looks like he's about to blow his top off

"Excuse me, EXCUSE ME! Is anyone even here?" the obnoxious man announced

"Dad stop yelling"

"Miss excuse me, do you know who runs this establishment?"

I just shrugged my shoulders hoping he would know what that meant

"Yes yes, sorry I was out in the back. What do you need?"

"I was looking for the manager of this Inn here.

"Yes, I am the manager, My name is David, David Mccready. Are you looking for a room?"

"Yes, myself and my son here so that'll be a room for two people please"

The manager writes down something on his book out of sight

"Here's the keys to room 12. Just go up the stairs and follow the room numbers till you reach yours."

"Thank you, come on son, let's get our bags unpacked."

As they rushed up the stairs Mr Mccready turned to me and said

"Now Miss, what would you like"
