But Monday morning came around the corner just as fast and here I was sitting in the hall eating breakfast with my group of friends at seven in the morning eating scrambled eggs and bacon with orange juice on the side. I was introduced to Benjamin and Liam who was also apart of the group, they didn't come with us to the Festival of Lights because they were busy dealing with detention, turns out these guys really like pranking people and causing grief upon the teachers.
Liam was the shorter one of the two, he had beautiful olive that I wish I had, chestnut-colored eyes and was quite muscular and very attractive. While Benjamin, on the other hand, was tall, slightly chubby around the edges, he had shaved his hair off and his eyes were electric blue.
Audrey and Lynette were filling the guys in on our day at the river, Sam was complaining about not getting an invite but Audrey's reason was for us to have a 'girls day' away from idiotic boys.
I also learned about Benjamin's and Liam's gifts. Liam was a shapeshifter, he is able to turn into any animal as he chooses but his one goal is to be able to turn into a person, so far he has no such luck as they always tend to come out deformed like a nose is in the wrong place or other things in different places where it shouldn't be. I did ask if he could give me a demonstration but he declined.
"I'll show you another day," he promises.
While Benjamin had the gift of persuasion and when I asked for a demonstration, Benjamin had no troubles in showing. He flashed a white smile and leaned down to stare into my eyes, I wanted to instantly back away from him.
"I want you to go over there and pick up Mr. Marsh's coffee and tip it all over him," Benjamin smirks at me, I couldn't look away from him, I felt tight around the chest and when he spoke those words in a dreamy voice, I couldn't help but obey.
"Ben," Sam warns.
Benjamin waves Sam off as I got up.
"Who is Mr. Marsh?" I question glancing over at the table that had three teachers sitting there, two men and one woman.
"The one wearing the blue shirt and white shorts," Benjamin points to Mr. Marsh. The teacher was laughing at something the woman was saying.
"Okay," I nodded.
"Ben," this time it wasn't just Sam's voice, it was Audrey's and Liam's.
"It'll be funny," Ben replies.
I took a step, I felt like a robot as I slowly walked towards the teacher's table, I couldn't move my eyes away from my target and the voice in my head screamed at me to stop, I would get into so much trouble on the first day. The closer I got, I began to sweat like bullets and I couldn't stop.
"BEN!"
That voice stopped me in my tracks for a couple of seconds, it was Calum's voice and he sounded angry. I was almost at the teacher's table and stopped right in front of Mr. Marsh who turns to look at me.
"Can I help you?" he asks.
Help me! I wanted to scream. Move away from the table!
But instead, I go to reach down to pick up the coffee cup when Ben's hand grabs my wrist. "Stop," he says softly to me.
"Mr. Scott?"

I snapped out of the trance-like state I had been in, I take a step back looking around. Some people were looking.
"Sorry Mr. Marsh," Ben flashes a charming smile. "I was just showing Abby here my gift and how it works."
Mr. Marsh looks at me and glares at Ben. "And what did you ask her to do?"
Ben shrugs. "Nothing, just to come up and introduce herself," Ben was lying through his teeth and he was doing a damn good job at it, I was almost believing him. "She is nervous about her first day, just thought I'd give her an extra hand."
I narrowed my eyes at him. I bet he was using his gift right now on the teacher to lie and the teacher was raking it all in.
"Oh, good to know you're helping the new student," Mr. Marsh turns to me. "I'll see you a two-fifteen this afternoon Miss Johnson."
I nodded. "Yes, sir," and walked back to the table with Ben who grinned shamelessly.
"That was so funny," he says as he sat down while I remained standing. "But you guys are lame, it would've been heaps funnier if she actually did pour his coffee all over him, he deserves it."
"No on her first day," Audrey growls at him. "You can be such a jerk."
"I stopped her, didn't I?" Ben rolls his eyes.
Sam shakes his head, Lynette was busy eating while Calum looked disinterested. I didn't like the way Ben had treated me just then so I picked up my glass of orange juice, took a sip before leaning over and pouring it over Ben's head.
"There," I say putting the glass on the table. "I poured something on someone."
Audrey gasped breaking into a smile, Lynette and Sam started laughing and Calum, Calum actually had a smirk on his face and Liam pulled out his phone and took a photo of Ben's dumbfounded expression while I stood there with a satisfied look on my face just as the bell rang signaling that we had five minutes to get to our first class. I gathered my things and followed Audrey and Lynette out of the hall, Sam and Liam were both teasing Ben behind me.
"All right," Audrey says looking at me. "What's your first class?"
"Uh," I pulled out my folded timetable. "I have herbology."
"Great," Lynette says wrapped her arm around mine. "You're with me."
Without another word to the others, Lynette drags me toward herbology, she led me to not a building with a classroom but to some kind of greenhouse. She moved her arm from mine and marched over to an elderly looking woman.
"Hello Mrs Crawford," Lynette motions to me. "We have a new student with us today."
"Hello Miss Jennings," the teacher smiles at Lynette warmly, I assume this teacher has a soft spot for Lynette. "And yes, I have been informed about Miss Johnson's situation."
I walked over to them standing a little behind Lynette smiling shyly at the teacher. "Hi," I didn't know what else to say.
