Romeo and Juliet. We had been studying it for history, and Dad came up with the fun idea of turning it into a play. Originally Riley and Lucas were going to be playing Romeo and Juliet, but dad basically had a mental breakdown and refused. He appointed me as Romeo, despite my obvious lack of interest. The minute I was appointed Romeo, the girls in the class who didn't want to participate all rose their hands to volunteer as Juliet. Obviously Riley couldn't be Juliet anymore, because I was Romeo, so someone had to take her place. Riley being the friend she is, volunteered Maya as Juliet. I for one was overjoyed that Maya was playing Juliet, I would want no one else. She looked disappointed however. It stung, it really did. She probably wished Lucas was still playing Romeo instead.

"Eyes, look your last. Arms, take your last embrace. And, lips, oh, you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss." I say my memorized lines as I look at Maya's sleeping form. She looked so beautiful in her Juliet costume, laying peacefully. Her blonde hair flowed freely onto her shoulders, the smell of her floral shampoo wafting as I slowly get closer to her. This was going to be my first kiss, with the woman I love, but it was fake. The kiss wasn't real, no feelings behind it. She wished there was another in my stead, another to graze her lips. I hovered over her, my lips less than an inch away, our noses touching. However, I was stopped when I felt something pressed agaisnt my neck.

"Back off." Farkle said as he held his spear.

"What meanest thou? Spear carrier...who havest no lines." What the hell was Farkle doing?

"You tried to kiss my woman. This I can not allow. Prepare to die!" Of all the times for my best friend to start acting weird, bow wasn't it!

"Farkle, what are you doing? You have no lines in the play. Kissing the girl is Romeo's thing, I play Romeo."

"Who thinks the spear carrier should finally get to kiss Juliet?" Farkle asked the crowd.

"Yay! I'm rooting for you spear carrier!" Riley cheered from the crowd.

"Matthew! You cometh uppeth here and getteth kissed too." Farkle pointed at Riley.

"Yay! I'm an actor, thank you." Riley waved at the audience as she got on stage and layed down next to Maya.

"How ya doin'?" Riley asked as she turned to Maya.

"The play is ruined. Farkle just HAD to stop the kiss." Maya said annoyed and...sadly.

Lockers (Maya)

I walk down the hallway where the audience waited for us. They cheered as I walk past. With a quick wave and a smile, I wait for my co-stars. Riley was the next to come out, and although she wasn't in the play, they still cheered for her. Next was Sam. He looked so hot in his Romeo costume, really proper and clean. I could feel my face heat up at the thought of how close he was when he was going to kiss me. Our noses touching, his breath brushing against my lips, making me anticipate it. Farkle being Farkle had to go and ruin it. Speaking of Farkle, he came out next, and no one cheered. Good, he ruined the play.

Riley sympathy clapped, making everyone else clap along.

"Thank you, thank you Farkle nation!" Farkle yelled as he high fived random strangers. Just seeing him is getting me upset.

"Farkle, come here." I beckoned him with my finger.

"Maya, dont. He thinks he was good." Riley begged.

"Yeah, I'm gonna fix that."

"But you can't tell him the truth. You'll crush him." Oh, poor sweet Riley. She is too nice sometimes.

"Oh, I can tell him the truth. It's you who can't tell him the truth because your afraid." She needs to stop being so nice all the time.

"I'm not afraid, I'm nice." Too nice. Also, did she call me mean?
