Layers of a Beaten Down Soul
1. Anger.
Erratic.
Hot tears.
Screams that no one can hear.
I pound at my chest with closed fists.
My nails dig into my skin and I tear myself open like wet paper.
2. Sadness.
A steady stream of tears.
Curled up in a ball.
The world sits on my shoulders.
Everything is heavy.
My chest caves in and I fall into myself.
3. Anxiety.
Everything is spinning around me as I spin in place.
It starts in my stomach, a boiling pot that never stops.
My hand grow cold, and eventually go numb.
My thoughts move too fast.
I'm falling.
4. Fear.
A pit in my chest and a lump in my throat.
I sink as I spin, swirling downward.
My stomach turns sour.
Adrenaline runs through my veins.
Survive.
5. Loneliness.
Hollow.
Cold.
Hands reaching into darkness.
An aching heart.
Echoes of memories.
6. Exhaustion.
Heavy limbs.
Tired eyes and bags to match.
Headaches with no end.
Very little patience.
Bad dreams.
