Dangerous Venting

The nearby city wasn't drastically populated like capitals, but still big enough to house tall office buildings and stacked plazas, apartment complexes towering overhead.

The sun had set by then, sky blue and street lamps spilling onto the side paths, stores on the ground floor splashing light out, shadowed awnings bristling in the wind.

It was always a strange feeling going to the beach's city, as Taehyung usually went on vacation to get away from the urban lifestyle.

That area, though, bustled with some new, unworn energy that strayed away from the feeling of home. So he enjoyed it all the same.

Especially with his hyungs strolling down the sidewalk with him, Hoseok pointing out any nice cars they saw speed by, their own convertible safely parked in a parking garage, their stomachs filled with dinner from a restaurant Jin found, laughing with the pleasant chill of summer evenings thanks to Jimin's endless entertainment.

The city was a bit warmer than the shore without the direct seafront winds, but it was close enough to the beach for the breeze to pick up during certain hours. When the wind slipped through the gaps of tall buildings, they could be a whip in the face. Startling and unexpected like his best friend's next words.

"My English professor was deadass part of a tour band! He explained it all to us!" Jimin exclaimed.

"Who the hell goes from a college dropout, to traveling across the country in a band, to being an English professor?" Taehyung laughed. "You've got the funniest school stories, Minie."

"It makes lectures interesting!" His best friend argued. "He goes on tangents and it's so entertaining. Sometimes my stomach just hurts from laughing so much."

"That must be your quota of participation points," Jin snorted.

"Man, I wish. The dance department just rips us all new asses." Hoseok huffed. "Held a showcase just a week before midterms and I think we all got fucked over."

"Right before exams? That's just cruel," Taehyung sympathized. "I'll never understand how you dance like that, though."

"Mark Hyung and you complain all the time." Jimin giggled.

"Dancing is still fun. The gen-eds are what really suck." The elder groaned. Jimin and Taehyung grinned as Jin comforted the sulking man.

"I need a drink. Talking about school just stresses me out and we aren't here for that." Jin hummed, hands stuffed in his pockets. "Can we hit a bar?"

"Hell, yeah," Jimin jumped excitedly, his eyes narrowing with the bright smile on his face.

Hoseok shrugged. "I'm down, the usual place?"

"I think I'm going to go get ice cream." Taehyung scoffed. "Someone needs to be sober for the drive home."

"No one said they were planning on drinking that much. Come on, Tae!" Jimin grabbed his arm and swung it around. They all had stopped on the sidewalk to converse and decide on their destination.

"You say you won't get drunk, but then you go and drink that shit like water." Taehyung shoved him, laughing at the pout appearing on his best friend's face.

"He's not wrong," Jin grinned. "For your size, Minie, you breathe alcohol like goddamn Dionysus."

"Bullies." Jimin frowned, spinning around with a dramatic flare of annoyance. "Fine, Tae, get your stupid ice cream."

"I'll go with." Hoseok chuckled, who was far from Jimin's case and knew it didn't take long for him to get intoxicated. "I could go for some ice cream."
