Natural Spring Water

As soon as Patty pours the pill onto Abby's hand, the paranormal scientist is quick to throw it down her throat, without one single doubt.
Erin and Patty look at Abby in shock, both pairs of eyes widened.

"Did you swallow it?", Patty questions, in disbelief.
"Yeah, I swallowed it", she confirms, giggling a bit.
Erin gasps, "It's in you."
"It's in my tummy", Abby smiles at the brunette physicist.
The tallest one groans loudly, "I'm sick of you just swallowing things all the time!"
"Now it's in you, like, pressuring us, like a time bomb", Erin stammers out, seeming stressed.
Abby frowns, defensively, "No, don't put this on me, okay? You do what you like!"
"I like math!"
Patty groans, "Not math."

Abby shrugs at her high school friend, cheekily adjusting her glasses up her nose, "Look, we're all making our own individual choices about recreational drugs."
"Of course we gotta do it now", Patty exclaims, staring down at her own pill, "What else would we do?"
"Yeah, just sit around watching you be high?", Erin agrees, furrowing her eyebrows.
"You'll embarrass yourself", Patty states as Abby gasps in response.
"I will not embarrass myself!"
"You will! Girl, you will. You'll be there writhing around in ecstasy, making out with the sofa cushions."

Barely finishing her sentence, Patty doesn't waste time before throwing her own pill down her throat, making Erin's eyes go wide once again, and Abby's face grow an excited smile.

"Now you both did it!", the physicist exclaims.
Abby quietly snorts, still looking at the former MTA worker, "I'm a bit worried that you think making out with sofa cushions is a big part of what's about to happen."

Patty sighs, before ignoring Abby's comment and turning back to Erin, "Just do it, Erin. Go, girl."
"If you want!", Abby adds in, her pointer finger lifted up in the air.

Gilbert looks back and forth, stressfully, from her non scientist friend to her scientist one.
She closes her eyes and sighs deeply, "Will you guys think I'm not cool if I don't do it?"
Abby immediately shakes her head, "I don't think there's any chance of anyone in this room being cooler than anyone in this room."
"Whatever. You know you're the coolest one in the group", Patty replies, and the shorter woman immediately scoffs, furrowing her eyebrows.
"No, I'm not?"
"I didn't actually think that", Patty laughs out in response, "I just wanted to see if you'd agree if I said it out loud."

Erin anxiously rubs her forehead, muttering things to herself, "Okay, I can do this. We're young, we're hot-"
Abby wheezes, "You think we're hot?"
"You got your whole life ahead of you to get back on track", Patty tries to assure the physicist.
Erin rapidly nods, stammering out, "I don't know what my regrets will be when I'm 93! Could be taking this pill, it could be not taking this pill!"
"The bowties, it will be the bowties", Patty comments, getting a giggle out of Abby.
"I'm not losing control, I'm taking control", Gilbert mumbles under her breath, "Taking control of being a real fun party girl!"

And with that, Erin throws her pill down her throat. Both her friends smile in excitement, watching as she brings her hand up to her mouth.
"Yeah!", Abby cheers, just as her brunette friend begins to cough.
"It's stuck!", Erin exclaims, her coughs being muffled by her hands.
"Crap."
"Oh, god, get her something-"
"How can it be stuck? I was just taking pills!", Erin complains as a beverage glass is quickly handed over to her.
"Drink the water", Patty pats her shoulder as Erin downs the cup, before starting to cough again.
"That's not water!"
"Oh."
"Shit, it's not", Patty comments after smelling the cup.
"Oh, yeah, that's old Riesling", Abby realises, "Sorry."

Erin coughs some more before rapidly shaking her head, eyes closed. When she quiets down, her hands go back down to her lap and she stares at the empty desk they've been sitting around of.
The tallest one looks back down at Gilbert after setting the wine glass down, an uncertain look plastered on her face, "Is it down?"
Erin weakly nods, "It's down."
