Ashton

"You'll leave, just like everyone else. Everyone leaves.”
What the hell was that supposed to mean? He watched as she walked, more like ran, away from their secret hiding spot. He sat there, trying to think of what to do next, but all he could do was reply the scene in his head. They sat there, and they held a nice conversation, until his stupid ass spoke up and asked y/n to go out with him. Of course she wouldn’t have, why would he have been so idiotic? She was so beautiful, and had this smile that could light up an entire town at a town, her eyes twinkled every time she laughed, everything about her made Ashton all tingly inside.
After sleeping on it, he decided that he should go over to her house and somehow, apologize, win her over, make up their friendship, or something, he would do anything to talk to her.
While in his car, cursing every time he fucked up his words, Ashton looked over to the front only to find some one exiting the home. Luke. Of course Luke was over, why wouldn’t he be? After all, it was he that y/n actually liked. She probably said no because she likes Luke, the part of “everyone leaves” was probably just something to get Ashton away from her. He suddenly grew more insecure as he sat there; the insecurities punched him in the stomach repeatedly until he couldn’t stand it anymore.
How could he compare to Luke? Luke was so much more than Ashton, he was the captain of the football team, he was tall, easy on the eyes, and every girl fell for him. Of course y/n would also. Gaining enough courage to go up to the door, Ashton immediately realized that he should go in with something, so he turned on his car and drove to the florist to buy some red roses, y/n’s favorite.
He sat outside her house for another fifteen minutes before he had the balls to go and ring the doorbell. The red roses covered his face as his hand shakily rang the doorbell. Ashton exhaled deeply as he waited. The door swung open revealing a messy, but cute, y/n; it looked as if she had just hopped out of the shower. She knew right away who was behind the door, but what she didn’t understand, was why?
“Um, hi, these are for you,” Ashton stuttered, mentally kicking himself at how lame he sounded.
“That was sweet, thank you, I, well, oh, would you like to come in?” Y/n’s arms were still stinging from the shower minutes before Ashton showed up.
Ashton gave the petite girl the roses and followed her inside the too large home for two people. The girl walked into the kitchen and he trailed behind.
“So, what’s up?” She tried to make conversation.
“Y/n, I really think we need to talk-"
“If it’s about yesterday morning, just forget it, Ashton. Okay?” y/n cut him off.
He sat trying to find the words to say, he remembered a messy haired Luke leaving the place this morning, and Ashton grew upset. He didn’t know what to do or say. He bit his lip, and ran his hand through his long sandy colored hair, which y/n loved when he did. How could she not realize how in love he was with her? No one spoke to Ashton before she came to town, everyone thought he was weird and stupid, even Luke ditched him at the beginning at the end of high school. He was so alone. Ashton needed y/n. He let out a deep sigh and looked the girl in the eyes. Before he could speak, she beat him to it.
“Ashton, look, I really like you, you’ve been a great friend,” she pushed up her sleeves due to the warm atmosphere, and immediately regretted her decision.
“Y/n, don’t start that, no please don’t start the great friend shit right now,” he babbled without looking up. Shaking his head, he caught a glimpse of her raw arms and stopped cold. He swallowed hard and felt a tear escape from his eyes. “Y/n,” he started.
