A little bit about her/backstory: Alexa was born in Miami, Florida, USA. Her parents, Rodrigo José Mendez Suarez and Clara Paulina Cabello Morgado, were originally from Cuba. She was the third child, with older siblings Carlos Rodrigo Mendez Cabello (5 years older) and Emilia Jennifer Mendez Cabello (3 years older), and younger brother Miguel Raul Mendez Cabello (2 years younger). Alexa grew up as the very definition of a Miami girl. She loved (and still loves) the beach, loved to have parties and celebrate, and absolutely adored the sunshine. Alexa was entered into a few child beauty pageants starting at age 4 (and won quite a few crowns), but after hearing about behind-the-scenes issues, she and her parents decided when she was 9 that she wouldn't do any more pageants. This didn't stop her passion for fashion, however. She began booking modelling jobs for magazines and children's clothing stores not long after. At the age of 10, she booked her first acting job in an ice cream commercial. She soon began taking some acting lessons. Currently, it's her modelling career that has taken off. She gained thousands of followers on Instagram in late 2017, and it's only gone up from there. She's started to book more major jobs in the last year, and has promoted many different fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands on her Instagram page. She hopes to grow into a more serious modelling career from her Instagram fame. As for acting, she still hasn't booked a ton of major jobs yet (though she's been an extra a few times), but continues to take acting lessons and go for auditions. Alexa met Alex at the 2019 NHL Draft. She was in Vancouver for a photo shoot and decided to go to the draft. They met there and exchanged numbers after connecting. Shortly after, they met up again in Los Angeles when Alex went to the LA Kings' training camp. They began dating not long after. They are currently mostly long distance due to Alexa's modelling and Alex's hockey career, but they call and text every day and make sure to go on dates whenever they are in the same place. People often mistake Alexa as being kind of stuck up when they first meet her because of her looks. She is actually laid back and chill. She enjoys parties and going to the beach, largely influenced by her upbringing in Miami and her Cuban heritage. She can be very sassy and honest, but usually means well and tries not to hurt anyone (unless they really piss her off, then it's no mercy).
Random facts: - She can speak English and Spanish fluently - Her parents moved to Florida with their families when Fidel Castro came to power - She is older than Alex by about half a year (and likes to remind him of that frequently) - Her celebrity crush is/was Shawn Mendes - She is a huge fan of Jennifer Lopez, her dream would be to appear in a movie or music video with her - She got to meet Pitbull in Miami on three different occasions, and admires his entertaining and songwriting ability - She can sing and dance a little, but not amazingly - She currently splits her time between Miami and Los Angeles - She has been compared to Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries) - She didn't know a ton about hockey until she started going to some Florida Panthers games at age 12 and became a fan of the sport - She does salsa dancing, but just for fun
