Loss

“I’m never ever going to lose you, Never, baby” Anthony mumbled, with his arms around my

waist as we sat on our knees staring at the hole where Nicolette disappeared. “It’s gonna be alright

hun.” Anthony whispered in my ear as I moved towards his lap and just snuggled my head into his

shoulder. Tears streamed down my cheeks. We’re never going to be the same without Nicolette.

She was like the soul of our family, the only who always made us laugh, but she’s gone…. How are

we going to be okay after this without her. Even if the rest of us survive. I moved my head to look at

Mike who was with Sabrina and Kaydon, screaming and banging his hands on the snow. “WHY!”

he shouted, making my heart lurch. 

A loud ding sounded in the icy tundra, telling us our time is up to mourn. “tick tock tick tock…”

echoed in our ears. “JUST SHUT UP! I HATE YOU!” I just burst at the sky. Anthony ran his fingers

through my hair trying to sooth me, but its not going to work, she’s gone… “We need to leave Kat,”

 Anthony urged, slipping his arm underneath my waist and legs and standing up, lifting me up in

his arms. A boom laugh exploded from the clear tundra. Streaks of blue and red swirled around a

blob of black, snow lifted from the drifts and circled it too. Ellie. His lean figure appeared from the

snow and light. His laugh never faltered. “I told you I would get her first, but I couldn’t have done i

without you my love.” he said stepping forward and caressing my face. “Stay away from her!”

Anthony said, putting me to my feet behind him. He chuckled, “I did see that little love scene you two

had in the comfort room earlier.” he smiled leaning to his side to get a better look of me. Anthony

stepped into his view making Ellie hiss. Mike stood from his terrible sobs. “Your going to pay for

Nicolette.” Mike side, with as much strength he could muster, though that wasn’t much. Just looking

at him made my throat tighten. Why did this guy have to do this to us. “Oh and what are you going to

do about it.?” he questioned, moving his arm up and squeezing his hand into a tight fist. Mike

clawed at his neck, his eyes wide, staring at Ellie. His face turning purple still clawing at his neck.

Ellie laughed before letting go of his fist, and lowering his arm. Ellie dropped to all fours and

gasping for breath. “What the hell is wrong with you, you took his girlfriend away!” I screeched

moving from behind Anthony. “No Kat.” he said trying to reach for me, butt I was already face to face

with Ellie. “You know you look very cute when your mad.” He said moving his hand towards my jaw

line to stroke. “No keep your filthy paws off me, don’t even talk to me like that,” I yelled, letting my

face turn into a mask of disgust. “Your horrible!” I shouted, “like I haven’t heard that before, but then

again they always crawled into me in the end,” he said his eyes a mixture of blue and green neon

that were trying to grab my attention. “No I won’t ever go to you,” I hissed. “Oh we’ll see about that,”

he smiled his smile both attractive yet frightening. He… how could he ever think I’d want to be with

him, urgh! So gross! 

The tick tock sounds of a clock rang again in the snowy tundra, sending shivers down my

spine. Ellie’s smile widen, “Well you better be going now if you want to get out in time,” he chuckled

sending color streaks down through the snow and exploded to a cavern towards the end of the

tundra. “Go,” he smiled nodding his head to the cavern, “Only way out,” he continued, moving his

arms to an escorting position. Anthony moved from behind and took hold of my hand. I looked back

to see mike fumbling to help Kaydon to his feet, but our gazes locked and he nodded. I turned back

to look at Ellie but he wasn’t there anymore. I took a deep breath, my body shivering non stop. “Let’s

go,” I said, and we walked towards the dark cavern.
