Barden Awards

When Monday morning rolled around Jesse was done editing the video and was just about done getting ready for school.

"Jesse get down here before your food gets cold!! " Sofia yelled from the breakfast table downstairs.

"Coming mom! "Jesse yelled back while stuffing his books in his bag. He then put the flash drive with the edited video in his right front pocket. He ran out of his room to go eat breakfast with his family.

"Took you long enough. " Beca rolled her eyes the second Jesse got downstairs.

"Good morning to you too Beca." Jesse smiled as he sat down to start eating his pancakes.

"What are you kids planning on doing today? " Bryce asked after taking a sip of his coffee.

"Well we have school, which is boring by the way then we're headed to the ice cream shop. " Emily smiled.

"Who says school is boring?" Bryce asked.

"Me." The kids answered at the same time making their dad frown and their mother giggles.

"Since you think school is so boring,  I guess you won't mind me telling you that there won't be any classes today. " Bryce smiled and the kids faces lit up but the Beca frowned.

"You could've told us that before we packed our bags with a bunch of stupid books! "

Bryce rolled his eyes at his daughter then sighed,  "It was supposed to be a surprise. You see we're planning on having the first ever Barden High Awards in place of prom. "

"Why the hell is it in place of prom?! " Jesse yelled.

"Because this way we can reminisce about all the fun ups and downs we had during the year. " Bryce explained.

"Cool so the whole school goes or? " Emily raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, the whole school gets to go. We'll watch a bunch of slide shows and stuff. Plus we'll be sitting at tables like a gala."

"Now that is cool. "Beca smirked.

"Glad you finally approve. " Bryce smiled. Beca nodded and smiled back at him.

"Not to ruin this sweet moment but we have to get going or else we'll be late to school slash work. " Emily chimed in.

Everyone finished their breakfast then headed to school but not before Beca dumped all the books that were in her bag on the floor then picked the up and place them neatly the second her mom gave her a glare. They all rode to school in Bryce's car.

When they finally got to school they found their friends by the school  entrance.  "You kids really need to stop loitering around my entrance. " Bryce said walking past the his students.

Chloe smiled and went to hug her girlfriend but stepped back when she realized that Beca's bag was completely empty.

"Where are your books at? " Chloe asked a bit confused.  Beca smiled at her girlfriend.

"Well,  you see because my dad is the principal means that I know what's gonna happen during the course of the day.  This means I know when we aren't going to learn so I don't have to carry any books. "

"Well that was a long ass explanation." Emily said while rolling her eyes at the shorter brunette.

"Oh,  shut up dweeb."

"So what exactly are we doing today if we aren't learning? " Aubrey asked leaning into Jesse.

"I don't know really. I was so excited that we weren't learning that I completely forgot to ask. " Beca shrugged.

They spoke for a few more minutes before the bell rang and they went to the football field for morning assembly.

"OK,  as some of you have already heard there won't be any classes today. " Bryce said and the whole school cheered.

"So today I thought we could do things differently. Today we're going to be telling you about our plans for the replacing of prom and how all you can help us. Your homeroom teachers will give each one of you a job to do so we can get the school ready." Bryce smiled.

He explained the Barden awards to the whole school so everyone could have a clear picture. After the explanation the kids went to their homerooms to get their instructions for the day.  They were all given jobs to do.

Emily was almost done finding all the sports equipment in the entire school and placing it neatly in the equipment room when she felt someone hug her from behind.

"I feel like I haven't seen you all day. " Stacie whispered in her ear.

Emily smiled and leaned into Stacie's embrace. "I know but I'm almost done here then when school is out we can hang out at the ice cream shop. Is that okay? "

"Perfect. " Stacie said before giving the younger girl a peck on the cheek.  They chatted for a few minutes before Emily had to go finish her job.

When everyone was done with the preparations they were allowed to go home or wherever they go after-school. Stacie, Emily and their friends walked into the ice cream shop and got four tables. They got their ice cream then started chatting it up.

"Guys with that was going on I almost forgot to show the music video. " Jesse said pulling out his flash drive and Donald pulled out his laptop.  They played the video and all but Amy approved.

"That was terrible!  I only show up three times on screen! " Amy yelled while everyone else just rolled their eyes. After getting everyone's approval Donald uploaded the video to the internet.

After spending over an hour at the shop they were about to leave when Stacie heard the voice of the devil.

"Hey babe.  I haven't seen you around in a while. Have you been doing okay?"

"What the hell do you want Amethyst?" Stacie asked with a sigh.

"Isn't it obvious?  I wanna get back together baby cause you're mine. "

Stacie stood up so she could look Amethyst straight in the eye.  "I was, am not and will never be yours. Now leave me alone before you start to really piss me off."

Amethyst scoffed and walked away but not before glaring at Emily and Stacie. Once she left Stacie explained what just happened to everyone. They left the shop to go home and the next day they were putting the finishing touches on the school.
